3 has to be Samaras' lucky number. I've just checked out his goal scoring record for the '3' clubs he's played for and he has an almost perfect 1 in '3' ratio, here it is:

    Heerenveen: Apps 88 Gls 30 Ratio 0.34

Man City: Apps 30 Gls 8 Ratio 0.26

    Celtic(Loan): Apps 16 Gls 5 Ratio 0.31

    Celtic: Apps 61 Gls 25 Ratio 0.4

    Total: Apps 195 Gls 68 Ratio 0.34

This isn't just useless drivel, what I'm trying to do here is open up a debate on whether you think a striker, who we could just keep on the bench, is worth keeping if he is going to score a goal every 3 games...or is he just a useless diddy that we should auction off to the highest bidder?

I am actually fed up of even thinking about Samaras.

On the fence he had a spell between december and february were he couldnt stop scoring whilst on the other hand he needs 20 chances to score a goal at times which does pull the plunger a bit but i think we need a more consistent sammy tbh.

when he's on it..he's good......but those days come around all too often. if we can get a good fee for him i'd punt him pronto for someone with experience who can turn it on every game.

Nah he's got to go man. I just don't trust the guy to do the business when it really matters. When it comes to the tough matches like Old Firm, Tynecastle, Europe he just goes missing far too often. His decision making is also * poor.

Nah...he's just got to go. I've had enough of watching him tbh.

Wouldn't look TOO much into goal scoring records.

Tevez for example scored 7 in 26 for West Ham
and 19 in 63 for Man United which is .27 and .30 respectively.

Crouch has 11 in 38 for Portsmouth and 8 in 38 for Spurs. (.28 and .21)

Lorrente the Spanish striker has 46 in 166 or .21

I'm not saying Samaras record is particularly astounding. Just that this thread adds pretty much nothing to the conversation already going on in the other thread(s).

In fact I find it utterly ridiculous that people want rid of him. Fair enough if you don't think he's worthy of starting every game but he's more than proven that he would be a fantastic option in a group of 4 strikers.

Just to add more fuel to the fire, I've just done the same thing with Craig Bellamy and I know he's played most of his career in the EPL but he is 10 times the player Sam is and his total club goal per game ratio is 0.32!

Haha, no no, it's the same point really. Even world class strikers hover around the .3 mark in their respective leagues so why try using that as something to get at Samaras?

Samaras had a wee run in the 93min of todays game and the commentator said " Where has he been hiding that all game" Thats the problem with the big man he doesn't show enough consistency throughout a game.

Talking * there Sammy was fantastic today and unlucky not to score atleast twice 1 off the line and then a world class save from his header , aye he was hiding tho Celtic fans can really be a joke when it comes to Sammy get a grip and support the * guy.
I really think there are fans that fail to see him doing anything well and when he does they cant even give him * credit * disgraceful , yet he does one bad thing and gets slated .

Stats don't tell the whole story. On paper his record isn't bad but on the pitch he's a useless, gutless, worthless *

It's simple, the man is lazy. He could be a brilliant player if he tried hard enough but he never looks interested when he is on the pitch. I never saw the Greece game today because I was at school but when I got home I was told he completely turned the game around as a sub, he just doesn't show it enough
