i think when he said "worth the wait" and many of us knew that lennon was getting the job we assumed that there would be something else, an extra, during the announcement, and that obviously isnt the case.

it could just be that lennon is talking to players now that he is officially manager and we may see in the next week or so some new faces.

Big signings - get what you mean.

I reckon that has to be the case.

Why does he need so many coaches? Seems to be a bit of an old pals game rather than who's the best man for the job if you ask me. 3 new coaches to raise the wage bill which we could do without.

the thing is Lawwell is a smart man and he wouldn't come out with such a ridiculous statement if there was absolutely nothing in the pipeline. He knows that, by making such a bold statement, he is putting his neck on the line so he must know something is happening. Either that or he has made a big mistake, especially if Lennon doesn't work out. Fans remember everything and January 2009, as he has stated, will always haunt him and this comment, unless something is pulled out of the bag, could have the same effect

I will be very suprised if Lawell comes up with anything worth the wait. This is celtic after all :54: they seem to enjoy extracting the urine from their fans. Maybe if they signed Robbie Keane permanently then I would be pleasantly surprised.

My mate who was at the meeting said the worth the wait comment was made to a crowd who really wanted Lennon to be the Manager.

I think worth the wait was directed at them as in that it'll be worth the wait Lenny will be the manager kinda thing.

In retrospect not a good thing to say as he knows every word he says is analysed a hundred times over.

Lennon could bring in 40 coaches if he wants, aslong as he gets the job done, that's all I care about and all you should too, mate!

We've lost three coaches - Mowbrays two, and Lennon. We need three replacements for those positions, unsure about Lenny bringing his pals in though.

why? virtually every single manager under the sun has their prefered and trusted team of assistants and coaches that travel with them to the clubs. id rather lennon brought in people that he can trust and have a good footballing brain and that he can get on with rather than someone elses backroom team.

The cynicism from some fans is appalling. Do you honestly think that Lennon would bring in people who couldn't do a job just because they're his mates from his playing days?

The man hasn't been in the job 5 minutes yet this forum is rife with negativity.

I said the minute I heard that Mowbray was fired that Lennon should get the job and I'm fully supportive of him. I don't think I'm cynical at all, but I do worry that he's surrounding himself with untested coaches just because he knows them. Yes, bring in staff that he trusts - but surely in his playing and coaching days at Celtic and elsewhere, plus internationally at Northern Ireland, he knows and trusts some coaches with experience? Right now it looks like we're bringing in one coach with zero experience, one with a little bit of experience at the Newcastle academy, and one who's spent the last few years as a painter and decorator.

I respect Lennys desire to bring 'men' in as players - my worry is that he's just looking for that in his staff as well, when really he needs more of a balance than that.

    Prove me wrong though Neil!

Nobody more than myself would like to see Nl,Malby and Thomo to do the bizz,as Thomo loved scoring against the scum oops huns, but it is a big gamble and too many fans think this will be a cake walk, this board up till now has been a * mess and only if we put pressure on them to get things right will we see us back on top.
