Get in Neil, best of luck :icon_mrgreen:

Dunno what Lawwell's "Worth the wait" comment was about because we didnt really have to wait for Lennon we all knew that would happen.

Me too, but I am sure you, like me, will give Lenny 100% backing now and support the team.

So all the best Lenny for the coming year and beyond.

Look back at the posts on this and othe forums at the time we were getting rid of Mowbray - everyone, and I mean everyone was calling out for an experienced manager - Lenny is not that.

Irrespective of that, I don't want to be negative today, so will simply wish Lenny good luck.

Why are ye's disappointed in Lenny a man who captained this team with distinction.....

A man who was faced with death threats and just shrugged them off and got on with it.....

And then he comes out today and says he wants to bring the thunder back and the noise and his players to go to war everytime they walk on to the field and you are disappointed...........

    As Lenny would say Jaysus...............

He has no experience. It's fine saying in a press conference that you want your players to go to war when they're on the pitch but it means sweet * all in terms of management ability.

Look we are fans we post what we want and what we feel , some fans are delighted and some are being realistic and dont buy Lennon was the best we can do simple as that ,

Everyone has said there backing Lennon and want him to do well no one has said they wishes he falls flat on his face .

A man who was faced with death threats and just shrugged them off and got on with it.....

That has nothing at all to do with the Celtic job at all ,

there are concerning issues regarding his appointment suhc as the lack of experience. We just need to hope that the gamble pays off.

Typical season ticket sales ploy from Lawwell with his 'well worth the wait' comment. He talks of the trust between the Celtic family yet spins lies like this just to try to persuade people to purchase tickets

72 days since Mowbray got sacked.

We were promised that the managerial appointment would be worth the wait.

We were told within 14 days at the end of the season.

What took the board so long. Was Lennon their No.1 choice, or was it just the cheap option as he was already under contract to us?

Why only give him a 1 year contract?? Is it incase he makes a * of it, and they don't need to pay him much to leave, or just not renew his contract?

listen lenny may not be a guus hiddink? he may not be a jock stein or a martin o`neil either! but one thing you can be damned about is his team will fight like when he played for us. and therefore if we see fight ,passion energy the will to win from this neil lennon team? then ill be * ecstatic to tell the truth.

under mowbray we had * all like that . under neil i beleive he will get us better quality players who actually think about football 1st other than their wage packet.

this man deserves our loyalty as manager ! he got this when he played .so he may not be peoples 1st choice or 2nd and 3rd? but he is here he will have a team full of fire and like he said lets go to war and bring the thunder, hail haill lenny

all the usual * about passion, fight and loving the club. Means fck all in management. Lets not pretend. This at least equals the weakest management team in our history in terms of any real first team experience of managing. There is no doubt that this puts Rangers at an enormous advantage in terms of management. It will be like fighting with an arm tied around our backs and I can only see us overcoming this self imposed disadvantage and winning despite this appointment if we throw money at the problem and massively outspend Rangers. If there is not a big advantage to us in the transfer activity in the summer then I think the league will be lost again because right now Rangers are a far better team unit with a far better manager.

It may work out but our board have shown themselves to be unfit for the club if the best they can do in a manager trawl f world football is the the reserve coach, Mjallby, Thommo etc. All about appointing popular choices and Celtic men for the masses.

Having said all that, although I am angry at the boards lack of ambition I do see qualities in Lenny that may be good. Its just far too early IMO. In our recent history, young managers like Brady, Barnes, Burns, Mogga etc have not been great successes. Our most successful managers of the last 20 years have been guys with loads on the CV. A rookie is a big big gamble and a long shot one compared to a seasoned manager.

    Just cant get enough
Can understand the concerns about his lack of experience but he's got the job now so lets all get right behind him.
Had a bad feeling when Mogga took over but I'm confident Lennon will do a good job. Think he'll do exactly what he promised- get the fans back on side and get the players up for every game.
At least we know he wants the job unlike Mogga who looked liked he couldn't be arsed right from his unveiling.

yeah I think that 1 year contract is a bit disrespectful. Like, we really want you as manager, but we don't really trust you so your only getting a year. If I was lenny i would be a bit * at how i'd been treated.

Anyways, bring on the Treble! :celt_2:
