Got to say, I think that people are putting to much pressure on the lad. He's just recovered from a career threating injury and has barely kicked a ball in two years.

I never really rated him bar a few performances in which a thought he did great.

I hope he comes back and does well but imo he shouldn't be getting a game ahead of either McManus or Balde.

Why is everyone so excited about the return of John Kennedy? As I've said before he never convinced me before he got crocked. Not enough pace and not mobile enough. And that was before his knee was rebuilt. I've got nothing but respect for the lad for battling back to fitness, but I didn't think he was good enough before and sentiment can't come into this. McManus has looked a better player and even he isn't top drawer.

Exactly. He was an average player before the injury. He will be even worse after 2 years without playing.

He is definitely not the answer to our defensive problems.

They all had the talent before their injury. Kennedy has been overrated because of his injury. People look back with rose tinted glasses. He wasn't anything special, the 3 you mention were.

Maloney, Larsson and Petrov were all good players before serious injuries. FFS when Henke broke his leg it was like the end of the world. Totally different situations. Kennedy will not be good enough for Celtic.

Slightly differant mate. Larsson broke his leg and Kennedy was * for about 2 years, many set backs and basically had his knee remade. Same with Petrov as is with Larsson. Plus, we seen that Larsson/Petrov were really good players before they got injured. Kennedy is fairly unproven bar some few great performances (Barcelona).

Yip Shaun Maloney was setting the world on fire, before he was injured.:87:

Kennedy will not be good enough for Celtic? The bhoy is only 22/23. He may not impressed you before but talk about jumping the gun.

Jumping the gun * all. He has no pace and is not mobile enough, that will not change as he gets older.

Of course he can get better, he's 22 not 32. You dont loose your skill by being injured for 2 years. Ronaldo was out for 2 years injured, he didnt loose any skill.

You need to have skill before you can lose it
