Stephen Crainey is an absolute rock defensively, hugely experienced and is good going forward, great left foot and can hit a free kick. Won 7 player of the year awards a year ago.

Why the persistence with lee Wallace? Crainey has more caps than him

why the persistence with Mulgrew? He wasn't even a regular at Aberdeen FFS!!

If we're gonna bring back one of our ex lb at least let's bring back one who is good

Nadir Belhadj would do a job. The positions jinxed though.

Dont think Mulgrew is the answer, I like the look of Belhadj as well. Also young Kieron gibbs from Arsenal as a possible loan deal, he cant get in the Arsenal team because of Clichy. Misun is also a good shout if he can fully recover from his injury.

Boy looks like a decent player, bit of pace about him. would like to see him go in for a 50/50 with a certain Kenny Miller :icon_mrgreen:

I would agree with trying to get Mulgrew or Wallace.
How about Paul Dixon from Dundee UTD? He gets forward quite well, good defensive abilities and a cracking free kick taker (you may remember him scoring a belter against us when we drew 2-2 with them at Parkhead in Jan last year).

Good point, the reason it worked before was because we played with Agathe and Thommo on the wings, both of whom have good defensive capabilities.

Mulgrew is a complete dud. He struggled to get a regular game for Aberdeen ffs

Misun is a left back not an attacking mid, but you can't afford to have your only left back as a 19 year old. Denis Aogo would be the perfect signing.

I think most people know this.

If your referring to my earlier quote about a 21 year old attacking mid, this was aimed at those thinking Graham Carey would be a candidate for lb.

I was told that Lawrence is left-footed. We may try with him at LWB in a 3-5-2. And Nagatomo of Japan-the trick is, he's right-footed and rather goes inside to pass or shoot than he wants to cross. He is good though. Manuel Pamić who plays in Sparta Prague is a pretty good LB.

    Read this today :

'Arsenal could offer £7m plus youngsters Francis Coquelin and Armand Traore for FC Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny after an initial £4m bid was rejected.'
    Full Story : Daily Mail.

If Arsenal are prepared to let Armand Traore go.... which wouldn't surprise me with Gael Clichy and Kieran Gibbs ahead of him in the pecking order, then we should definitely be looking at him. We should surely be able to compete with FC Lorient for signings so that shouldn't be a problem. He's only 20, and was actually playing regular Premiership football at 18 when he was on loan at Portsmouth. Currently a France under 21 international, but as I say, he's third choice left back at Arsenal. I've been really impressed any time I've seen him.
