Quite right not to make him the centre of attention. It's a team game. That was very intentional IMO

My point was, Mcd wasn't sold to balance the books, when we almost signed ramis at the same time, suggests mobray had faith in the other strikers.

He also knew we needed a leader in defence and that's why he tried to get ramis with the 3.5m from the sale of Mcd.

Having confidence in the strikers and failing to land an experienced centrehalf was his downfall. Though he was a bit unfortunate through injuries and most big decisions went against us over the course of the season.

Ramis hasn't looked anything great? Only a stalwart in the defence which finished 5th just losing out to sevilla, he was playing against the worlds best attackers in Messi, Ronaldo, Fabiano, Aguero, Forlan, Higain, etc..., he would have been a good signing imo.

We started downsizing when we were in a position of strength before any recession kicked in. If that money had been spent more wisely we could ve still had a bit of quality about us. strachan wasted so much money on far too many bench players when buying fewer players with a bit more quality would have been far better. strachan was a yes man to the board and was happy not to rock the boat behind the scenes. I dont want celtic to go out and buy a 10 million pound player , im not daft, im like the vast majority of fans on here who want celtic to aim just a little bit higher than we have done so over past few seasons. You are far too defensive of the board which leads me to ask......... do you have connections on the board

The bottom line is Mowbray wasnt happy with the defence from day dot, he publicly told us this 2-3 months into the season and as far as i am concerned he would have prefered experienced defenders in Jan rather than the signing of keane. I loved Keane but Im sure Lawell had a lot of input to this big decision.

Hes not looked ??? Part of the best defence outside the big Three in La liga?? Did you even watch him?? :31: Would be a steal if we get this player. But I'll leave that discussion to the transfer rumour section :50:

This might have been said already but........ Ask him why we never seem to build from a posistion of strength ie Seville, 3 in a row under Strachan eventually culminating in one of the worst and most embarrasing years in the clubs history when the title was capitulated to one of the worst Rangerts teams in living memory and the support were embarrased by the lack of fight and general standard of play by those lucky enough to wear the hoops to be paid a fortune to do what everyone on here would give there left arm to do for free

Personally I'm fine with 'zero debt' - I remember the Mars Bar days and the initial resistance to The Bunnet. His promise to us that we would never need to fear losing our club to Banks, Bailiffs, or any other sleekit money-lenders is being honoured. Football and football financing will change. We don't want to copy Leeds Utd or Portsmouth (or the Huns for that matter) in the meantime.

    As for questions:

Why are we being asked to pay for season tickets when there is no manager or manager announcement even on the horizon?
