have u seen a handsome hun
should the new manager, lets call him lenny. try to sign players who are of a certain height as i feel as a side we are too small.
we need some bigger bhoys in our squad.
mcgowan, maloney, mcginn, crosas, to name a few arent exactly big guys. i seem to remeber martin o'neil targeted not only good players but big guys.
hartson, sutton, valgaeren, bobo spring to mind. whilst mjallby was already on board. i'd like a bigger bullish team.

I agree. Our team definitely would be none the worse for having some height and muscle added to it.

Well lets take a look at the heights of the players we have been linked with...
    Bullard: 5'11
    Reid: 6'
    Diakite:6'4
    Hooper:5'10

And those are just the ones with the most recent buzz..and there all of pretty good size, Hooper isnt too big but he's a shifty lad and Diakite is a big bhoy.

for me we need two strong, physical and tall centre backs playing every week, as well as one striker built like that

Spot on. We've been bullied by Huns for too long! I still remember Cousin making big Mick and Heid look like wee jessies at Celtic Park. Never again! Lenny knows the score.

Well if Craig Levein gets the manager's job that's one thing we certainly will get......two BIG centre-backs. The only problem is - one of them will probably be Darren Dods or somebody * like that. :87:

Our problem has been having two diddies in every area of the pitch where they get undone by just one opponent at crucial times.. If we had dominant players who can take care of just one man first and foremost then we'd have a starting point..

If Hooiveld can tackle like a defender , win his headers , play his way out of defence like a defender should and can pass the ball then maybe we have a chance of stopping the oil spill that's been our backline for the past few years.. Him and a decent partner who aren't slow to read a situation or react to a situation and we'll be in a position to switch to 3 at the back during games and not be so reliant on Hinkel or Wilson or wingers to do defensive duties..

I think the major problem has been the middle of the pitch.. Watching Fulham against Atletico last week I was thinking that Etuhu is the ideal size of guy we want in there.. A bit slow at releasing the ball but similar to Jarosik was in stature and only from having watched highlights of some games recently did I remember that Jarosik weighed in with a few goals , was winning headers at corners and in open play and used the ball well.. We have missed someone like that but preferably someone who's not shy in putting the foot in either.. Partnering Brown in there and we'd have a decent mix..

definately. Two big CB's, two big strikers (one main, one back-up) and a powerhouse midfielder that will win in midfield and allow other players to join the attack. It's a must in every level of for me

Our team just needs a new spine to be honest, you're right it wouldn't hurt to have some height and muscle added.

We need at least one commanding centre back and if we don't tie down N'Guemo, we could do with a ball winner in the middle of the park, with a bit of muscle.

If Levein was given the job then I would put good money on him signing Gary Kenneth at CB.

I still have high hopes for Rogne who looks a good big player but he needs to get over his injuries first.

Well if you are looking for a 6ft plus strong good tackling midfielder then Engelaar is one that i am surprised big clubs haven't gone in for. At the euros i thought he looked pretty decent, hes massive, decent engine and doesn't shirk from a tackle.

Its possible that no large clubs have gone in for him, but for what reason i do not know, any chance would we be able to get him?

Defo agree on the more hight.....but sometimes its just about attitude, you dont have to be 6' 6" to intimidate, if i recall that Lenny boy was able to dish it out and at 5' 9" he was not from the land of giants....

i think for CBs to be considered "big" they have to be 6"4+, i wouldnt look at a 6" CB and think "hmm, hes gonna be tough to beat"

Height is certainly a big advantage coupled with a calm head and a decent footballing brain..............is that asking too much !
