Sneijder or van der Vaart?

After watching Inter Milan win Serie A and Real Madrid currently struggling to a draw with Malaga today I was wondering, who would you rather have in your team? Wesley Sneijder or Rafael van der Vaart? Both are pretty similar in style and position, but who would you choose and why?

 

Sneijder for me. Has a bit of grit about him. Your right though, they are so similar, in most aspects as well. Age ? the fact they came through Ajax, and also their position.

Also i think Sneijder can play out wide to more effect and is maybe a tad quicker. Though Van Der Vaart has top technique

Wesley Sneijder all day long in this years form. His vision and weight of pass is absolutley outstanding and has done it in the big games also. I think he will have a big say in the CL final!

 

For me it would be Sneijder, which is why I made the thread. * knows what Real were thinking keeping van der Vaart, who is a top midfielder imo but nothing on Sneijder. From what I had seen of Sneijder he didn`t struggle in Spain? So its confusing why he was sold.

 

Aye thats true, he turns up for the big games. Madrids loss that he no longer is with them imo

 

A think him and Huntelaar were sold when there was a change of presidency. They money generated from the sale of these went towards Ronaldo and Kaka- which will pretty much have been re-coupled now.

Though Ronaldo and Kaka have been in and out in terms of form and injury and suspensions- they defo could have used him.

 

Sneijder by an absolute mile his range of passing is sensational and through balls as well. Van der vaart is also a good player but sneijder is a player i regard as world class and it still frustrates me when rafa was offered sneijder plus 10 million for alonso he turned it down.

 

So does Van Der Vaart supposedly haha. Him and Capello didn't see eye to eye.

Van der Vaart. I reckon we couldve got him 3 seasons ago if the board had the bollocks & built the team around him but heyho.

 

Comfortably Sneijder. Bit of an irony that Madrid spend over £200M and it's the players they've sold - Robben and Sneijder - that are going to be in the CL Final next week.

I realy questioned the chance Robben got in Spain, along with Huntelaar- and perhaps Van Der Vaart. I really don't get why they get so many players and then not use them ?

Ah that was Beckham v Capello. My bad.

Though VDV did come out and publicly speak against his manager- about lack of action. Would that have been Ramos or Pellegrini (Edit: or Schuster maybe ?) ?

Despite having done that, he's in their team now like.

 

Sneijder for me, his range of passing and creativity are far superior.

im not sure tbh sneijder looks the better at the moment but that whole inter team is built around him everything goes through him where as vdv hardly gets a look in at real but to be fair to him when he does i dont think he's ever et himself down vdv needs to get himself to a team that is gonna play him week in week out and then i dont think there'll be anything in it between the two
