Yeah he does, no your spot on Chopra doesnt really use the channels but he will do the only real thing you need a forward to do and he puts the ball into the net, you could be right, maybe they are too similar but I think it would work wonders in the spl, managers have different beliefs, O'Neil prefers the little and large combination upfront with Carew and Agbonlahor with Carew winning the knock downs and Agbonlahor's pace and finishing, Walter Smith likes to have two goalscorers upfront both capable of scoring goals, no real right or wrong just what that managers prefers. I just think that Chopra and Ras could score up to 40 goals between them if they both stay fit. Yeah I would love to see Samba up here didnt know he signed a new contract :31:
Unless we offer silly money I doubt that deal is ever going to happen. What about Curtis Davies?

Infact i'm going to change mines lol.

    Team:
    Boruc

    Rogne - Hooiveld(SW) - Ramis

    Hinkel --------------------------------- Petrov

    Bullard ------- Brown

    McGeady

    Fletcher -------Stokes

    Subs:
    Rasmussen
    Loovens
    Maloney
    Zaluska
    Crosas

I think McGeady would be more effective as the kinda playmaker, similar to what Sneijder does for Inter Milan.

Certainly agree he would score goals up hear not seen much of him but what iv seen he's impressed n has generally always scored anytime iv watched him. Rasmussen is interesting one he certainly looks big strong physical guy and seems a poacher type. Just got a few wee nagging doubts. Thought Lennon would have gave him bit of a run when he took over seen as he had played and scored a few goals for development squad. The fact Lennon stuck with Fortune/Samaras worries me a bit. Also that one he blazed over last week against St Pauli when one on one didn't fill me with confidence but hopefully it was just a 1 off cause he did score a good strikers goal later on.
Yeah, I like Davis certainly agree it should be a CB of the Davis/Samba mould, big strong, physical guy that will scare the * out of spl strikers. Been dreadful watching our CB's getting bullied by some really average players(higdon/lee miller/Kyle) the last few years. I was banging on bout Sol Bamba a few weeks ago but maybe should be aiming higher. Really hope Hooiveld can get fit n stay fit.

Markeyboy going back to your original post I definetly agree about McCourt being involved more. If it's not from the start he should always be on the bench to bring on. Look at the impact he had at st Johnstone. I know they've got to have 3 u21's in the squad but with 7 subs there should always be room for someone with paddys ability

Why do people keep picking Chopra? He's capable of going months without scoring a goal and then banging in 5 in 5 to bring up his goal tally.not exactly what we need, seem to remember us having a problem with strikers doing that in the past.Plus he would be dear imo, £4mil+

Completely agree mate, I dont understand why Ras wasn't given more a run out under Lenny, with the league over I dont understand why he didn't tbh. Yeah, I also saw that miss, wasn't great but at least he got himself in the right places and managed to notch a goal later on. Only thing with Ras is his lack of pace, he is quite slow which isn't ideal but neither was Skippy and he got himself loads of goals so I suppose pace isnt everything. Yeah we need a strong physical defender, I still dont think we have replaced Balde which is ridiculous really, I like the look of Rogne, he has impressed me more than any of Mogga's signings, he looks the part, also like Hooiveld, shame he got injured because I wanted to see more of him, I look at our cb's from last couple of seasons like O'Dea and McManus and they simply not up to the grade, If I was coming against these lads I wouldn't be scared, we need someone who is going to be like a brick wall to get past, Davies could fit that bill.

Like you say our defenders have been bullied by some * this season, remember Keane's first game against Killie? Kyle played that game and caused huge problems for us and we ended up losing 1-0. No way should we be getting bullied it's even happended at CP and it simply isn't good enough. We need a physical defender desperately this summer. I like Bamba, I saw him about 8 games this season and he been solid in every game, I think Davies could be a ideal lad to bring in however.

Yeah, McCourt is genuine class, his fitness is such a problem, he have potentially a fantasic player player on our hands here but so frustrating because of his lack of fitness. Scored some screamers this season, he goes round players for fun and has a class right foot on him. He is at the very worst a great impact sub, he needs to be involved more its as simply as that, not sure it anyone agress but I think he is the best techincal player at Celtic. What you reckon?

Yeah teams no longer have the fear factor even when they come to Celtic park it's something that has developed over the past 3-4 years. Pretty much since Lennon n Balde left. IMO biggest reason teams don't fear us now is because they no if they mix it up we have no one to match up to them and they know if they can get at out defence with likes of o'dea, Thompson, McManus, Loovens they will have a good chance of scoring. Really hoped hooiveld was gonna sort that out but nobody knows due to him being injured. Rogne has really impressed me when he has played far more than o'dea n Thompson. Just slightly concerned with heaping too much on him when he's still young. He'd certainly be my 1st choice stand in ahead of any of the rest.

yeah I agree, in terms of just ability alone I think he's streets ahead of anyone at the club at the moment or in the past few years(except Naka). If you look back to St mirren game at the start of the season his ability was the difference. That game was so poor but it only took 1 moment of magic to win us the game. I don't care if his fitness is poor if he's the most talented guy in the squad you have got to accomodate him in the spl at least. Europe is maybe different. The other 10 are athletes with limited abilty let them do the running and just let paddy stroll around n maybe produce 2 or 3 moments of genius.

mc court is not streets ahead of anyone, a few mazy runs against another poor side and suddenly he's one of our best players, come on.

Spot on, that fear factor has gone since the Lennon and Balde days, teams must come here and think 'have a go at their centre backs and they will struggle" teams know we are weak at the back and this MUST be changed asap. Rogne could be a real quality player and even at 19 looks more than capable of doing it on the pitch, remember the OF game at ibrox and he looked solid as a rock, many youngsters would have really struggled at such a big occasion.

I agree mate, think he is streets ahead of everyone, McGeady included in that, he is a match winner, something we are limited with the current squad.

I have to agree with Ryan, he is our best techincal player by quite some margin. Nobody is saying best player as such, just in terms of ability, I cant think of anyone in the current squad better than paddy at splitting defences apart.

McCourt has the ability to change the game in an instant. He's probaly the only player in the current squad that gets me in the edge of my seat. He's the only one I shout at players to give the ball to. The game at Perth I had a bit of money on 3-1 and was actually shouting "don't give it to paddy" cause you just knew everytime he got it we looked like scoring. IMO there's no other player in our squad that you can say that about

    Expensive?????

    Hooper 2.5m
    Ramis 2.5m
    Wallace 2m
    Chopra 3m
