Completely understand people saying we should flog him, understandable after a slightly poor season, however the real important question is can we replace him? I dont think we could in the current market, its impossible to tell who we might go after should McGeady be sold but from past experiences we might just end up with some championship player who is absolutely no improvment.

you say a championship player "no improvement"

mcgeady out for £6m, same quality player £3m?

    = improvement.

first and foremost, they have to be able to cross a ball!

I agree to a certain extent but i don't think replacing McGeady would be that hard. In my opinion we already have a better winger at the club in Shaun Maloney, although he is rarely fit. To be honest i just want a winger who can cross the ball - not that difficult to find, even in the SPL

if mcgeady leaves youll all regret ever wanting him out imo

and how does he never show up for big games , hes turned in numerous great champions league performances for us eg benfica, villareal , shakter doneskt , barcelona when he ran rings round puyol ( who was playing at full back but still ) , and the qaulifiers against arsenal he was the only player who didnt look out of place whereas everyone else looked out of their depth .

He wasnt even that bad last night but some people already got their pitch forks out

yep he can run rings around some, but what you forget is.
he as then given the away team plenty of time to pick up strikers. then send the ball over the top for fast strikers to run at our defense and where is aiden buy this time standing at the away teams far corner flag area then seen the ball smack of our cross bar or post as he has not moved into position to recover the ball braking back out again

I dont know how many goals he's scored but I'd imagine he has as many or more than any other midfeilder at the club, the same with assists.Your point about mcgeady no showing up in games or shinning could be said about every player.Selling him would be a mistake and we'll rue the day we do.

if he was half as good as the hype he would have been long gone by now.

If he stopped slowing down and jinking the ball around he'd be a better play. He should just run straight at players with his pace then touch it past them...

I personally think Aiden is a good player, who, if he is sold this summer, we will miss greatly...The board apparently knocked back 8 million for him last summer, but I think any offer over and above should be at least considered, but it all depends on who we could attract to the club as a replacement or improvement...Pederson? Clint dempsey? What about Eagles from Burnley?

Yes but we wont bring in a quality player mate, thats is my point exactly, who could we sign that will be a direct improvment on McGeady? If we had a replacment lined up and someone offered 6m I would snap their hands off, But we wont, and without trying to sound too much like a negative *, we will find it very difficult to find a better winger this market. McGeady crossing is dire if we could find someone capable of putting a decent ball in then yes McGeady should be shown the door.

I agree mate but Maloney cant play more than 5 games in a row so we must find someone else. I think replacing him will be a very hard task, despite him being one of the most frustrating players at the club he still has trickery and pace and exicites the fans, people love to watch him skin the full backs but then he spoils it by putting in a * cross or by attemping to be too clever and trying to beat the man again which often results in him losing the ball.

I don't think he did too terribly but I always expect a little bit more. Maybe I've had the wool pulled over my eyes concerning him but I feel he has a lot more potential to be met. I wonder if he goes on loan if his skill would improve. Overall I agree with what others have said: it will be hard to find a winger as good as Aiden in this market for a decent sum and I'd like to hold on to him for one more season at least.

Because he's not playing at the level we thought he would reach is no excuse to sell him the level he's at just now will do.

If we sell him It will be a huge mistake some people just lack common sense.
