Couldnt disagree more tbh, Skippy was a proven spl goalscorer, we lost sooo many points both at home and away from home when we very obviously crying out for a natural goalscorer, Fortune and Samaras never going to score loads, we havent made any progress since selling Skippy, if anything we have regressed, I honestly believe if we kept Skippy and gave him regualr games we could have made the spl title race alot closer that what it currently is. 3.5m isnt very good bussiness for him imo.

Skippy back in, Fortune out would do me nicely. Always thought it was a mistake, quite obvious with some of the players TM brought in that he wasnt the greatest judge of a player. Should never have been sold.

Here though, maybe Mcdonald was sold to make way for Keane. At the time (though now we could with him) he didn't have the greatest relationship with the fans and the board wanted to appease the fans for the * form of the team with- Robbie Keane.

But how much of this was mogga's decision ? maybe things will come out in time and i know Mcdonald has came out and said stuff, but in reality i think players who are still here had the problem of not getting on with Mogga- therefore begs the question did he have full control of players and transfers ?

    McDonald happy at Boro

The Australian was quoted over the weekend admitting he would be tempted by a move back to former club Celtic.
But McDonald, who has bagged four goals since his £3.5million switch in January, insists that he is firmly focused on Boro - although his main aim now is to win a place in Australia's World Cup squad.

Heard today (not sure if any depth in it) but apparently we pulled out of the Gary Hooper deal as Lenny has been in talks with Strachan about getting Skippy back.

Basics are Lenny agreed to pull out of signing Gary Hooper if Strachan would allow Skippy to return to Parkhead.

Like I say, not sure what depth there is, however I'd be delighted to see McDonald back. Proven goalscorer, and like him or not (I personally do like him), he is the type of player we do need to get the goals if we want to get the title back.

Anyone else heard anything along the same lines btw?

    Quote from Coventry Telegraph

Middlesbrough set for £2.5 Gary Hooper deal

    Jun 25 2010

GARY HOOPER is on the verge of moving to Middlesbrough in a £2.5m move, online speculation claims.
The Scunthorpe United striker has been a target for Boro, Celtic, Coventry City and Derby County this summer.
However the Daily Mail reports that Celtic have now withdrawn their interest in the striker, leaving Middlesbrough as clear favourites to sign the in-demand striker.

It closing in on 1st of July, so it could just be the rumour mill starting up early, but I for 1 hope it happens

I'd take him but not for anything like 3.5m. Nowhere near.

Exactly, good striker but i dont think spending 3.5 m on him would be smart. But a proven goal scorer for us and i like him
