Yea, but with a player like Keane, you get him into the frame of mind that he achieved nothing of note here. 13 goals in a 6 month loan wouldnt satisfy a true supporter, getting the club to UCL football would change the perception etc etc.

He cant be dismissive of the likes of Kilmarnock or St. Mirren because of the results that have happened. He wouldnt be welcome back in my mind if he berates them as a reason to stay in the EPL.

The only reason he won't stay is because we have got * fans who even find a way to criticise him for saying he loves the club.

Keane was brought up to put bums on seats, it was a deal that suited all parties. I don't think the board ever thought they could make it permenant. Even if Keane wants to stay he's owned by spurs and several clubs will put 6/8m on the table for him and give him 50/60k a week, can we do that? I don't think so. Shame it's been good to see a class act in the hoops in what has been a * season.
