Na McManus has had his day at Celtic - it was a miracle he lasted that long in the first place.

A perfect example of the mediocrity that we have had to settle for since 2005, another donkey who gets shown up when it matters.

I would make campbell captain if he came. Out of the current players the one that stands out for me is boruc.

I'd rather Brown be captain out of the current lot, even if just temporarily. Maybe one of the new signings will prove to be more captain material, given time.

I actually agree with this, only problem is - this could make him become even more complacent.

He's actually a decent candidate for reasons you have stated, anything's worth a shot to try and get a glimpse of the old Boruc back. I'm not just meaning his form, but his confidence and swagger. We miss it.

I've went off topic here, to answer the OP - he's very lucky if he gets another chance to pull on the hoops again, nevermind re-gain captaincy. I do think there's a decent defender in there somewhere but he doesn't need captaincy to deal with too.

Would not have brown for several reasons, I don't think there is anyone in the current team that sticks out.

More leaders and a better standard of players need to be brought in, if Campbell is signed he would be an obvious choice!

If mcmanus comes back he should not be made captain IMO, he needs to play beside a captain if Lennon decides he wants him as a first choice defender.

I don't see that happening though, I still think he will be sold.

    Grand old team
Is this the same McManus who was dropped - and then was given a chance to come back into the team in Vienna and lost a goal after 28 seconds ???? - The guy has had his chance. His right leg is for standing on and his left cant distribute a ball - if its more than a 10 yard pass you can forget it going to one of our players. both he and caldwell and that other imposter naylor basically sold the jerseys nearly every week. Time to move out the deadwood and start afresh for next season. we NEED players who can play and be leaders at the same time.

Here's my take on it: Agreed he's not going to give our mediocre back line a massive boost in quality, but he's captained a league winning side for us before, which is more than any other player in the squad can lay claim to. If we don't sign anyone who can properly fill the armband can we really afford to ignore him?:celt_2:

By the way, has anyone else noticed the Ad for that Payday Bank in between our posts - looks suspiciously hun-like!!!! Ha ha :redcard:

No, if he comes back I dont think he needs the added pressure his own game went to pot when he got it

Lennon made Scott Brown captain and he will remain captain under Lennon.
