I reckon bullshit as their is * all substance to the story..

Alan Pardew is shock contender for Celtic hotseat - The Daily Record

ALAN Pardew has emerged as a shock contender to be the new Celtic boss.
The 49-year-old Southampton manager has an excellent reputation down south after his work at previous clubs including West Ham and Reading.
Record Sport can reveal Pardew's name has been recommended to the Hoops hierarchy after they approached some of the most experienced managers in the game for an opinion on who should be in the frame.
No official move has been made to speak to Pardew as at a recent Celtic board meeting it was decided Neil Lennon will remain in charge until the end of the season.
Only at that stage will Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell decide whether to offer the job to Lennon or look elsewhere.
The stand-in boss remains in serious contention but other names are being considered and Pardew's is high on the list. One of the other names on the shortlist is Craig Levein.
Pardew took West Ham to the FA Cup Final in 2006 but they lost on penalties to Liverpool.
He has been doing a good job at Southampton in League One since joining last summer.
They're close to the play-offs despite a 10-point deduction and won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final last month.
Lennon, meanwhile, revealed he hasn't held talks about the managerial position.
He said: "The situation remains the same from the day I took over after Tony left. I'm not asking about it. I'm too busy concentrating on things.
"I've spoken to Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell - I speak to Peter daily - but we don't talk about who they are looking at or if they are thinking of bringing someone in."

its on the scottish gossip column and directly below it says..

"But Celtic have cooled speculation linking them with the former West Ham boss as Norwich manager Paul Lambert continues to be linked with a return to his former club"

ALAN PARDEW today refused to rule himself out of the running for the Celtic job after he emerged as a shock contender to replace Tony Mowbray.
Record Sport revealed this morning that the Southampton boss was recommended to the Parkhead hierarchy after they sought opinions from respected figures in the game about who to appoint to the position in the summer.
When approached on the subject of taking over at Celtic, Pardew declined to rule himself in or out of the running.
He said: "It has been brought to my attention that my name is in one of the papers but I have no comment to make."
The 49-year-old Southampton manager has an excellent reputation down south after his work at previous clubs including West Ham and Reading.
However, Celtic's board will wait until the end of the season to decide on whether to make an approach for Pardew as they have decided caretaker Neil Lennon will stay in charge until then.
Lennon remains the bookmakers' favourite to land the job on a permanent basis.
The former Celtic captain this week said he had yet to hold talks with major shareholder Dermot Desmond or chief executive Peter Lawwell about being appointed.
But the Northern Irishman is desperate to be handed the reins.
Pardew led West Ham to the 2006 FA Cup final, seeing his team beaten by Liverpool on penalties.
He was sacked less than halfway through the following season after a poor run of results and suffered the same fate at Charlton two years later.
But he has rebuilt his reputation at Coca-Cola League One Southampton, who are close to a play-off spot despite a 10-point deduction.
They also won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last month.

Alan Pardew's agent has played down reports linking the Southampton boss with a move to Celtic.

Reports emanating on Thursday morning suggested Pardew was in the frame to succeed Tony Mowbray at Parkhead following his departure from the Glasgow giants last month.

Neil Lennon is currently in caretaker charge of Celtic, but it remains to be seen if the club's board will offer him the job on a permanent basis.
A number of names have been linked with the role with Pardew the latest candidate to be mentioned with a switch to Scotland.

Pardew has done an impressive job at Southampton, keeping them in with a chance of promotion despite starting the season with a 10-point deduction and he also led them to Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final success at Wembley last season.

The former West Ham manager's representative, Barry Neville, is in the dark over the Celtic rumours and believes Pardew will remain at St Mary's.
Neville told skysports.com: "I don't know anything about it [the Celtic link].

"Alan is under contract at Southampton and I believe he has job there he wants to finish.
"I have not heard a thing from Celtic."

Pardew has refused to comment on the link with Celtic.
When asked about the speculation, Pardew said: "It has been brought to my attention that my name is in one of the papers but I have no comment to make

Good manager, but not a big enough name for some of the fans so will be at a disadvantage from the start

He would be a good shout. Has done well on small budgets. Every manager has to get their first big break at some point

This guy has a decent budget and absolutely destroyed Charlton. Only reason he is doing reasonably well at Southampton is that he has a very healthy budget for a 3rd tier side.

We must be able to do better than this!

    NO, NO, NO matron NOOOOOOOOOO

Pardew? Not for me- I would rather take a punt with Lennon- if we cannot get an established and successful manager!
