Fair play to Ross County, they wanted the game much more than us and fought for everything with passion and a real desire to win. Celtic looked as if they turned up and just expected to be gifted a win. Would love to see Ross County go and and win the cup now, they would be talking about it for the next 50 years in the Highlands.
As for us, I have said all along that Lennon didnt have the necessary experience required to move us forward and needs to go elsewhere to learn his management tradecraft. I didnt think he would be outdone by Ross County mind you. This is probably one of the worst results ever considering the season so far, and the chance we had to reach a final this season. There's not one of our players can hold his head high tonight and if the board do employ NL next season as a penny pinching exercise then we should demonstrate against the board for the mess they have put us in by balancing the books.
Let Ross County celebrate tonight, its real underdog success story, and for us, get this season over and done with asap.

i liked that interview! shows hes not afraid to say what he really thinks. I didnt think he showed much emotion at the sideline, not that that would have helped tbh, but still shows physically he gives a *.

as for the midfield......why are we constantly playing defensive pairings?! none of our midfielders can score!! how many goals have crosas, n'guemo and brown got this season?!

Neil Lennon well and truly is celtic to the core

He says he wants the job more than ever- having looked at the current shambles- shows he cares- and with that he can tell what players care. I don't know what it is but when he says some aren't good enough my mind keeps getting drawn to Samaras and Fortune' probably because they are so inconsistent. But lenny has said the right things there but i don't think he really felt right saying 'i apologise on behalf of the players' seeing as he cannot legislate for such poor efforts from some of them who need a firework up their arses- and moved on.

Was at the game today and left as soon as the second goal hit the back of the net. Ross County deserved their win. Fair play to them.

Ok. So. Eh. Desmond is a 70 year old Billionaire who is unwilling to fund the club to the level that is required. He is currently enjoying the US Masters instead of watching the Club he claims to love so dearly in the semi final of the cup (Our only chance of a trophy). His absence today really makes me question his commitment to the club, either he needs to heavily invest or sell up to someone who will. I am sickened by our board and their treatment of the fans. The board either has to either put in the money or get to *.

I dont doubt Lennons passion, drive or commitment to the club, but i do doubt his managerial talent, experience and knowledge. Celtic need a squad of players with Lennons attitude, and manager with more experience that Lennon could learn from for the future.

    * that *

It's the board that are to blame, like has been said on here, we helped rangers up when they were on their knees on and off the pitch, when we should have invested and ran away with things. Their lack of ambition and satisfaction with bare minimum success and a great balance sheet does nothing for the history and competitiveness of our club and team.

New board in- but who ?

Aye, last Jan has cost us badly. Only able to get Willo Flood FFS! That's when we started to go downhill. Ross County have a couple of ex Celts playing for them.

said this from the first ball i seen him kick for us and the previous manager spent the whole summer pursueing him and almost £4m pound on his fee,you and your * pink boots can * off for nothing as far as i am concerned and take your * mate n'guemo with you, contract in the summer?the only contract this * should get is one on his * head.in fact all players should be sacked in the morning,if i put in that kind off performance at my job thats what would happen to me, at least none of these charlatans that played today should not play for the rest of the season.much as it pains me our club stinks from top to bottom desmond, lawell et al can * off as well in front of the nearset speeding bus preferably

    Our season in a nutshell

Congratulations to County and good luck to them in the final, means Scotlands co-efficient is gonna take another tanking next season though.

It is the worse Celtic team I can remember in my life, and it is all Mowbray's fault. He bought a lot of diddies, and it wouldn't matter who was manager now, because he would still have to work with all these diddies.

In saying all of that Lennon is not the man for the job as he lacks the necessary experience for the role. We will need a manager of vast experience
and who posesses phenomenal man motivational skills to pick us up in time
for next season, because if we don't get the next appointment right this time, we could be looking at a period of Ranger's domination.

Fair play and credit to Ross County for playing so well, but this result is a disgrace to the history of Celtic.

Is it * man, a remember a thread you made about it- what about entertaining the * efforts of players such as Samaras, Mcgeady, Brown, O dea. Yes he made mistakes that is evident but it also clear that some things did not go for him.

to be honest i am quite looking forward to read the head lines as it all points to a change for me, and our club, a blow torch on there necks while reading the headlines
will not make it red, but fan pressure will this board we have now, are the ones that don't have Celtics interest at heart, as like the players that they have sanction to buy * nilly and look like they have come from a Y.T.S. scheme of Dr Reid's campus

After a performance like today's, it's far too easy to start blaming Lennon and picking up on things like his inexperience, but we need to look at the bigger picture here.

The standard of player we currently have at the club is a direct result of both negligence on the part of the board regarding investment in the side over the past few years and the fact that we cannot pay tier 1 or tier 2 wages (e.g Keane) for 2 or 3 players for the duration of a season due to the status of the league we play in. That said, our board are culpable for a serious lack of investment in the side and should be held to account.

MON bitched in the press about lack of investment after Seville, it fell on deaf ears and he left, albeit it due to his wife's illness but there was no desire on his part to take a leave of absence and return to CP. He knew he'd came as far as he could with any Celtic side. GS bitched quietly about lack of investment and again it fell on deaf ears and we ended up with one £50k transfer over the course of a window lasting 30 days and he ultimately left the club. Mowbray was given slight financial backing which he spent piecemeal on a dud in Fortune and for good measure, destroyed the spine of a side and brought in far too many players on loan. The continuity of the side was destroyed last summer and we are now left with a group of individuals impersonating a football team. I'm not even going to get started on Keane as without his goals at least we'd be in an even worse position.

It's now almost mid April, the season was over a few weeks ago and still, our top scorer is a player who left at the end of January. It's shocking and unforgivable and the fact it cost a manager his job should not be lost on the people criticising Lennon after this game and after the interview he gave to the BBC.

These players are not his players, full stop. Yes he can try his damndest to motivate them, try different formations etc but ultimately it's the 11 on the park who are paid very well to go out and do the job they were brought to CP to do. The interview Lennon gave is probably the frankest interview I've heard from any Celtic manager in at least 5 years. It's obvious he's hurting badly and to use his phrase....this side needs major surgery in the summer and it's time we had a statement from Lawwell to that effect and to either back Lennon and allow him to start putting moves in place to approach players in the summer, or come out and publicly state that we will be looking farther afield for a manager and that we will be trying to bring him in as quickly as possible. Mowbray arrived in the middle of the summer window and we all know the results. Let's hope this time Lawwell, Reid and co. stop bullshitting the support with grandiose statements about targeting top class players as they have done prior to almost every transfer window over the last few seasons and get the finger out or I could see a real fracturing of the support and even lower attendances.

For a club such as Celtic to be so far behind to a rank awful Rangers side is shocking enough, but for them to lose 2-0 to a side like Ross County is unforgivable. Those players who took to the park today should be made one and all to sit down and write public apologies to the club support. They're a disgrace both to our great club and to themselves.

good post mate, but there are more than 11 players to pick from, I would say there are about 28 to pick from, all at his beckon call throughout the week and should you say they are not all capable of beating a part time mob, why are they there then. good managers pick there own teams, not someone Else's losing ones, and the one he played at hibs a blind man would see they where"nt great
