Maybe if he improves, he is more of an old fashioned CF - but we've got Rasmussen in that role now.

if stokes keeps banging them in clubs from down south will be looking for him again. still only a young guy, never really got a major run of games in the premier league. started well but was pushed out wide while at sunderland, then fell foul of roy so he was shipped out. same manager at falkirk as hibs so he knew his ability and believed in him. hence it works.

    Nae Chance !!!!!

Remember when WGS tried to sign him?
He thought he was better than Celtic & signed for Sunderland instead !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then what happens, does HEE-HAW down south & comes back here to SPL with his tail between his legs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are CELTIC & do not sign players who don't respect us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:shamrock:

Only because he couldnt score goals for Sunderland and Keane thought he might be better out wide, completely wasted out wide and was soon dropped completely. I would rather us go for Chopra/Fryatt/Ross McCormack who would be much better options imo and we wouldnt have to break the bank for any of these players.

Another Riordan imo. based on a few posts and reports he ain't the most serious guy, kinda like a troublemaker. a wee bit like Riordan. good for pub teams like hibs, but not good enough for the real deal.

Completely agree with you mate, we should try bringing in players that are proven championship scorers at least, if you can score a few in that league then you can certainly score in the spl.

id rather have steven fletcher and when burnley go down the fee for him might not be ridiculous but i think now he has a taste for the "big league" he may not want to come back

His SPL record is good. In fact very, very good.

I would take him miles before Steven Fletcher who's goal scoring record up here doesn't come anywhere near Stokes'.

stokes needs to develop and that's big yogi's words not mine...

yes he is a finisher of a very high SPL standard his two spells up here have proved that...

he needs to be more aware of what's going on around him and also of how to link the play I seen yogi was actually thinking of playing him in midfield to help his game...

totally different from fletcher...stokes is a penalty box striker where as fletchers all round game is far superior

Strikers are judged on goals which in turn win games, Stokes has done more in 2 short stints at Hibs and Falkirk in that department than Fletcher did in years.

We have enough players that have allsorts of useless attributes, we need folk that can stop goals, create goals and score goals.

No. Let's get Ramms and Fortune going, as much as Keane has been wonderful to watch I think he has hindered letting our most likely striker partnership build and develop.

    Agreed.

Celtic jerseys are not for second best, they don't shrink to fit inferior players
