I dont think that will sway the board in bringing him back ,they got 3.5 million for him so good business was done on that deal.

Yeh i agree, would be very surprised if that persuaded the board to fund a move to bring him back, plus surely it shoudl be down to the new manager who we bring in? Anyways we would probs have to pay even more than the 3.5M we receieved to bring him back and for that kinda of money i would be hopefully to bringing in a pacey striker who can score goals

Far too many petitions these days. They won't be taken seriously at all.

Haha, no buggering way, can't believe we got 3mil for him.

I'll admit he was fantastic value for the price we paid initially, but he's not worth what we sold him for and I wouldn't pay a similar price for him, we have and can afford better.

Some people can't see past his first season strike rate, but I think a large part of that was due to the likes of Naka and McGeady playing well and laying goals on a plate for him.

seriously??? why would you want him back and what do you think he would bring to the team apart from his fkin moany wee *? as the poster above said 1st year cant complain he was superb, but then on and i think you may have forget he was a part to blame for the disaster we had in front of goal near the end of last season that cost us 4inarow:31:

Didn't want him to leave either, I don't think the fans were really bothered at the time as Keane had just signed! We'll probably see how much we miss him next season when Keano goes. Utter stupidity to sell a big game player in Skippy, even for 3.5m.

Didn't want him to leave. Don't think he should return. If he ever does then i hope it works out for everyone-great. But not now it would just appear embarassing for the club trying to rectify past mistakes/decisions. Lets keep it real and realise we are only looking to janurary for the reasons why we have fell behind.

get over it he's gone - good player but rather unprofessional and too overweight. Move on - board hardly going to listen to a petition as signing targets are up to whoever the new manager will be

Didn't really want him to go, he scored some vital goals for us - it's time to look forward now though and I'm sure we'll find a suitable replacement. If we haven't already, time will tell if Rasmussen can fill Scott's boots.

    *? How?

Last I heard and saw, football was a team game. How did he cost us the league? Last season he was the only striker coming close to keeping us moving forward, as Sammy & JVOH scored like 1 goal between them in 4 months. I'll say that again - 4 MONTHS, meaning Skippy had to carry the goal threat alone, which in turn virtually meant that opponants had to plan to stop Skippy, which virtually meant stopping Celtic scoring.

Or are you so petty as to be talking about at the end of the MO'N era, when he scored those 2 goals on the last day of the season? Did he cost us the league that day, or was it the fact that after we won the final OF game that year we didn't need too many more points to secure the title, yet we managed to fall short. Or in that final game the Bhoys couldn't build on Sutton's early strike to put the game to bed, as a draw would've been enough that day.

I'm not necessarily saying he should be brought back, but he did score some very important goals for us, and the fact is, in his 2 full seasons at Celtic he was our top scorer and even this year, it has been nearly 3 months since he last donned the Hoops, yet he remains our top scorer this season.

By all means, you are entitled to your opinion, but saying that 'he cost us the league' - that's a bit of a joke.
