I always thought he was a decent centre half until Mogga came and perhaps Lenny feels he can get the best back out of him, it seemed to work with Naylor and O'Dea at the weekend....we could do worse.

I don't think it was just Mowbray tbh
He was a quality CH back during Strachan's first and second year but during the third and especially the 4th his play gradually went * perhaps because of the injury?

I'd give him another shot at it but keep the captaincy well away from him, maybe that went to his head a bit.

nah, sorry have to go against this, we have to look forward not backwards, he had his time, he WAS a decent centre half but he just doesnt do it now , get Rogne and Hoosfeld fit and playing regularly together and they will come good, maybe one more to come in. just my thought.

Exactly, give him the chance to repair a heart that Mogga obviously ripped out of the club....whether the McManus story is true or not, I'll back him whatever decision he makes.

McManus has proved time and time again he is a solid reliable defender who can also pop up with a goal or two...he was loaned out simply because Mogga didn't fancy him and his confidence had hit rock bottom...

everyone played poorly in strachan's final months and his style didn't fit into Mowbray's thinking...

you don't captain a team in the champions league several times and captain your country if your a bad player

big mick will return to celtic and prove all the doubters wrong of that i have no doubt!!

Spot on, if lenny gets the job next season and can bring the best out in mick then there will be no need for replacements, especially if cash is tight!

People goin on about Rogne and Hooiveld been better than McManus, what exactly are you guys basing this on?

McManus was in the 3IAR team, Rogne and Hooiveld haven't even wore the hoops for two whole games.

They look good but until they have proven that then they can't be classed as our best CB's imo.
