Players who leave clubs in not the best circumstances will always criticise the club if they are not doing well. If we were miles ahead at the top of the league we wouldnt hear a peep out of them. Its a case of kicking the man while hes down imo

Exactly. He's * off that he got punted in january, pure and simple.

So what does he blame for TM's failure? That's right, the fact that he punted players in january. It's so transparent.

Not to mention that his theory isn't supported by the facts. The team actually started playing considerably better after the january window, but that is just ignored.

In short, utter pish from a large talking heid in the north-east of England.

That is so wrong. Our best run of the season was the couple of months leading up to the window. Its since the window we have really collapsed. Think we were only 4 behind in the middle of January instead of looking at 16. Caldwell is 100% correct that a team on a good run of form was dismantled in January. We were not a team at all after the window, just a collection of strangers, kids and loanees.

We were as bad before the window as we were after it. That's a team made up mostly of players who were here in 08/09 - we threw that League away, too.

Disagree, I think we've been worse since the end of January. Game v St.Johnstone last week was the first in my life where I was tempted to leave in the 1st half.

To be honest i dont think hes * off he left,he wanted more money and we didnt give it him so he knew he had no future here.Remember he was set for Celtic B team but let them down at the last min after Wigan came in for him and for him to go to a prem team is quiet a acheivement if you archive the posts about him on here.I was a big fan of him especially how he turned form being a boo-boy into a POTY,but no player is bigger than the club and if its not to be then so be it.

I'd take Robson, Mcdonald and Caldwell back tomorrow. The core has gone with the title. * you Mowbray.

A very good article and and a very fair appraisal of what happened.

I don't disagree with the changes Tony Mowbray tried to make I just think he changed way too much way too soon. At the turn of the year we weren't playing too badly so we could have just added a couple of players to what we had and we would probably have been fine.

The only full season that "core" had together lost the League against this exact same Hun team.

Where has this myth came from that we were a better team before the window? We were not. Maybe we weren't worse, but we were no better.

True to form Heid was sent off tonight, had a penalty appeal against him and hit several hoofs up the field when there was no pressure on him to do so. I appreciate what he did for Celtic, but in my view he wasn't good enough. However, continuity in the team would have been better than a total rejig,

    Here here!

Robson wasn't good enough for the starting line-up. Maybe he would have been useful as a back-up, but Celtic haven't the world of money, so when a club wants to pay a fair among of money for a squad player, we have to accept it.

I liked McDonald, and prefer him over Rasmussen. But the man wanted to go. He maked it clear. And who would keep a player, who don't feel rated under the manager?

McManus and Caldwell (... and Loovens) was awful in the autumn under Mogga. It's simply logic that he have to make changes in that position aswell.

At his best, Caldwell was good. But he wasn't just good enough under Mowbray.

I think there's alot to critize Mogga for. But his transfer politic wasn't one of them.

It was his over zealous transfer policy that was ultimately his downfall.

    Agreed

The question remains: why did they get rid of so many in January if they didn't know who they were replacing them with? Clearly if they had known who they were going to replace them with we wouldn't have wasted money we can ill afford on loan players.

we were awful before caldwell left and we've been awful since. we had one good game against an awful rangers side, but some here seem to be forgetting that we then drew against falkirk at home.

one good game against the huns is not a team getting better.

as for calswell leaving, well i actually thought it was the right thing for the club to do. he was away at the end of the season, so we were best getting rid of him.

robson and mcdonald were the only ones i was disappointed to see go. if keane is to stay beyond his loan deal then i don't think getting rid of mcdonald will have been a bad move.

The couple of months before our January offloads:
    5 wins, 4 draws, 2 losses

Period between our January offloads and the St Mirren defeat:
    7 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses

Like I said, the facts don't bear out the theory.
