I am one of the people who said give TM time- ie until the end of this season.
That was back in January after the Killie game- but now we are near the end of the season and we as a team are no further forward.
It saddens me to say this but Tony please do the dignified thing and resign.
Last night you reminded me of Ally McLeod and that is not good!
The subsitution of Braffheid was mental!!
If I was playing poker with you I am pretty sure you would be one of these naive guys who go's 'all in ' because he has a hand of a 'pair of fours'.
I should have been happy for the huns to go out of the cup last night- I was not.
I now fear for us if the Final if it is between us and Utd because their team has more passion and desire and it will be these qualities that will win the Cup In May.

My own personal thought- Mowbray,Grant and Venus- its the M74 Southbound for you.

Bring in Wllie McStay and Neil Lennon just to get us to the end of the season.

Maybe Billy McNeil could help with the Admin side of the job and let Willie and Neil focus on 'Our Team!'

I have tried to be patient with Mogga and I have been on here having a go at people for not giving him a chance , but his time is up.

I can't see us building a team to win the league next year, and as for Europe we better stay away from that or we will get well and truly embarassed!!

Yours faithful through and through and gutted!!!!:54:

PS I know I should know this but why was Broon not playing last night>

I think he will resign with the mutual consent of the board, as even his most ardent supporters have now given up.

of course he wont walk so little time into the job, he will have to be sacked. i dont think he will be yet anyway and the scottish cup might save his bacon this season. ive heard a good few of his interviews now and he dosent come out well in them. he seems very defensive. its a bad stage when celtic are beaten 4-0 at st mirren. few players on loan, no robbie next season it dosent look good does it.

More Chinese whispers... Word is that there is an arrangement in place for TM to walk away at the end of the season by 'mutual consent.'

The CU podcast, published this morning alludes to this also.

He must go. His way to build a team is wrong. Celtic can't buy a team any more- we don' have the money. A team is built by talents, and not by signings all over the world. For example- McCarthy wanted to play for Celtic but Mowbray wanted players outside of Scotland. We have to take controll over our area, try to focus on Scottish and Irish players and mix them with a few foreign stars. Where is the heart today? Players all over the world does not care over the teams future, they just won't their money. A player like Robbie Keane also wants money but he is a fan ov the club and is always gonna play with heart and fighting spirtis. Resign Mowbray!

He will go, just take a look on this quote from Mowbray

""Maybe it isn't a league for trying to force the game and be expansive - maybe it is a league for playing defensive, negative football and having quality up front to counter-attack.""

Well he is saying that he is not the man of the job more or less.

I was under the impression that TM was on a 1 year rolling contract but apparently he has a 4 year deal, if this is true it will be a * disaster for this club. It will either mean the club can't afford to sack him which means we're stuck with him and the huns trophy haul gets bigger and bigger or the money we pay to get rid of him impacts on who we can bring to the club in terms of a new manager and players.

If you look back at all my previous posts regarding Tony Mowbray and even my Custom User Title at times, you will see I have always defended and supported TM.

My patience has been growing thin lately and although you do need time when going through a phase which Celtic have, Tony had to buy himself that time. He's done himself no favours and I'm not going to try and defend the undefendable.

I think he will resign with the mutual consent of the board too.

    The problem...

I know there are already a few threads with some similar content but what I want to cover isn't covered in another thread. Hence this one.

Obviously Tony should be sacked or resign. I honestly cannot see the man resigning when he'll pocket a load of cash should he get the sack. He would be stupid to do that since it will surely be a while before (if) he gets another job with his performances at Celtic over the season. Sure, he seems like a decent honest guy but he's also not stupid.

Therefore we are left with the board sacking him. Lets analyze this in a bit greater detail. Now, before I continue forgive me if I get some of the figures wrong here (feel free to correct me).

    1) It costs around £2million to get Tony and his management team from West Brom. No idea how much he and his management team are getting paid but lets lump another £0.5million onto that for wages this season to date. So we have £2.5million.

    2) Tony is on a 4 year contract meaning he has a little over 3 years left to run on it. Sacking him would mean celtic forking out a sizable compensation figure, lets say £2million.

    3) There are no great replacements available who are out of a job at the moment (correct me if I am wrong) so it would require paying compensation to another club to get their manager. Possibly another 1,2,3 million.

Total it up. Can you really see this board spending that sort of money? And this, unfortunately is the big problem here. Had we got TM for free and he was only on a 1 year contract then I'd bet my savings that he would of got the chop before now. Lets see what happens I guess...

I know he said he had a 4 year plan, but I thought he was on a 1 year rolling contract so no matter when he's sacked the compensation is likely to be in the region of 1 years salary.

Unless we get a manager out of a job at present then the board are just going to have to pay more compensation, that's life and we just have to deal with it.

We probably have 10 games to go (Im taking it that we'll beat Ross County)..

8 fairly meaningless league games (1 being the OF game)
    2 Cup games..

Unless there's any attempt to appoint a manager right now , who's going to be here for next season , then there's no way the club will go down the sacking route and if TM is a stubborn as his latest comments suggest then he's not walking.. The mutual consent at the end of the season that is being reported on the Cetic Underground twitter seems the best deal for both parties if the job is ending anytime soon.. I don't see how anyone (even the haters) can have a problem with that..
