Ive said no. My reason being the atmosphere at parkhead now is non existent. There r to many people turning up now just to shout abuse at the team instead of supporting them.

Aye we have guys turning up who should be getting behind the team, they don't they either just sit there or start screaming, i mean why when they hear a chourus of the celtic song or the celtic symphony they can't bring themselves to sing:97: at least onece in a while.

Whilst i personally couldnt give up my season ticket or stop going to away games i don't think anyone should be criticised for not renewing. There are more important things in life such as work, family etc and money is tight just now. What someone said earlier about glory hunters isnt true - its just that you are more willing to accomodate that kind of money to football when it is more enjoyable.

All of you loyal supporters/blind fools is the reason why we are in such a mess. The board know they can continue to rip the heart out of the club, appoint second rate managers, continue to spend * all on players while lawwel recieves huge bonuses while we win nothing simply because the "customers" will keep givng them huge sums of money every year.

It's not about not renewing because we're going through a bad spell on the pitch it's about making a stand against the people running the club into the ground.

Only thing is we are not being run in to the ground.

We may not like it but Celtic are a business and as a business we are being run pretty well, Lawwell gets bonuses based on business results, now if we won the league the business results would be even better and he'd get an even bigger bonus so it's in his best interest for the team to do well. To imply he doesn't care about football results is unjustified imo, he's a fan as well and wants the team to get results.

You can't accuse the board of not supporting the manager this year, he has been allowed to make all of these changes because of the boards backing. Yes we sold players to balance the effect but that's the reality of the situation every club now faces (with the exception of Man City) and even with selling players without the boards backing we would not have been able to bring in so many players.

I'm renewing my tickets because I'm lucky enough that I can afford to, I spent enough years not being able to afford to go to the games so that now that I can I will continue to whether we win, lose or draw. That doesn't make me a better fan than someone that doesn't renew, we all have personal choices to make and no-one should be criticised for their decision not to renew as others don't know their personal circumstances.

surely Dermot Desmonds qoute last year of, "Gordon Stachan leaves Celtic in a better position on and off the BALANCE SHEET" shows what they care about more.

I'd also argue with us not been run into the ground, how many points have we dropped since last January? In a 2 team league we are closer to 3rd than 1st and have taken the same number of points as Motherwell since Xmas.

What's wrong with what he said?

As a business Celtic need to be concerned with finances just to survive and like I already said better football results lead to better financial results so it's in the boards best interest for the team to do well.

Poor football results don't necessarily equate to the team being run in to the ground. Celtic being run into the ground was when the Kelly's and Whites were claiming attendendaces of 10,000 when double that were there etc and the complete financial mismanagement of our club. The focus on ensuring our club is financially self-suistainable is exactly what the board are paid to do, as it ensure we will not come that close to going bust ever again.

Everyone wants the team to be doing well, everyone is disappointed with this season, however, as long as I believe those in charge have the best interest of the club at heart and I can afford to then I will continue to renew no matter what the football results, that's my choice and I'm lucky that I can continue to make that choice. If people feel they can no longer justify paying all that money then again that's their choice and are entitled to make it.

I said unsure as I can't really afford it, never have been tbh I only work P/T and I am student so money is tight, as I am sure for a lot of folk it is. And to people saying they are not true fans coz they might not renew it is just a ludicrous statement. There are several reasons why they cant afford to renew it so to say they are any less than a celtic fan is just plain petty.

Renewing Season Tickets is about being supporters. There have been much worse seasons than this one. Remember that we support Celtic FC, regardless of who is in charge and who wears the Hoops

Whilst i understand the need for financial prudency i agree with a previous poster regarding Desmond's comments. Surely he should have spoke of how Strachan had left Celtic with a good youth set-up and a decent team and having made them the dominant force in Scottish football for half a decade. Instead he speaks of how he helped us financially. It isnt a managers responsibilty over what the financial results are. Plus Lawwell is paid bonuses on better financial results and not team results so he's obviously going to look after himself first before the club.

    Spot on mate.

The other major problem with desmonds statement was that as well as being better on the balance sheet we were also better on the pitch?
Does he really believe the squad strachan left with guys like Flood, Killen, Wilson, Naylor, McManus, Loovens was better than the squad O'Neil left for him? Balde, Lennon, Petrov, Thompson, Hartson and Sutton?
