I think he should be given till sometime next season before a decision is made. But i'm of the "Rome wasn't built in a day" theory

ifs and buts.i stick with the facts: out of CL,out of EUROPA,out CIS,cant beat huns team with pensioner at cb.10 points behind before easter, cant win 3 games in a row, think every team in SPL has taken something off us apart from st mirren and st johnstone! so no my minds made up.

I'd want him out either way, he's shown he can't win the league over the course of a season.

Can't install the mental toughness needed to win the spl, i'm not saying he's a bad manager just not the one who is going to take us forward.

Then & only then I might start to think he can turn it around, but the arguement against that is that theres no real pressure in the league so it's not a fair testimony.

    Will never happen though.

Hypothetically yes as it would show signs of improvement and not least the players seeming to understand his tactics when playing but it wont happen.

I dunno, the squad is in a transitional period and I dont think sacking him is going to help things. Most of the player are now his signings and if we change we go into transition again.

IMO, Mowbray changed things far too quickly. He chose a style of play that doesnt suit what he's got. He took his dream style of play and forced it on a squad of players that was built for a different style. Square peg into round holes springs to mind. I said this in September, it was that obvious back then.

I'm willing to give him another season but performances must be very good from the start or he should walk

Alex Ferguson's start at Man Utd

    86/87 - 11th
    87/88 - 2nd
    88/89 - 11th
    89/90 - 13th
    90/91 - 6th
    91/92 - 2nd
    92/93 - 1st

    The rest is history.

I'm not saying Mogga is as good as Ferguson, I'm not saying we will be as good as Man Utd anytime soon.

What I am saying is, some managers (even the best) don't make the best start, as MikeyC says 'Rome wasn't built in a day'.

Mowbray (like Ferguson) broke down a tired, stale squad and did it quickly and has tried to put his own stamp on the side.
Maybe that has cost us this season, but perhaps in years to come the club will benefit from that.

:56: Not the Ferguson comparison. If they were more examples than him then maybe that theory could be believed.

Difference was; Ferguson achieved huge success at previous clubs before Man Utd, and Man Utd in the 80's were nothing more than a run of the mill English side. He's one in a million.

This hasn't just been a moderately bad season, it's been abysmal in every sense of the word.

I cant believe it when people on here say give him time, squads in a transitional period.

HE HAS 4 LOAN SIGNINGS STARTING EVERY WEEK

Thats nearly half his 11, so will we start another transitional period when these 4 go ???

Mogga has to go, worst record of a Celtic manager in years, shows no passion, cant string 3 wins together, dropped something like 33 points this season, publicly slates players...

This guys has been a disaster, no matter what way you look at it.

A lot of teams have poor season when a lot of changes are made, there are more than just Ferguson out there.

you can't use fergie as a reference and then say you're not comparing. tony mowbray will never have a percentage of the leadership capacity that SAF has. please....please, stop bringing up SAF's start to his managing career at ManU as an example of giving TM a chance. It's totally different and if you don't understand why you should read more and post less

How many of those teams had a budget several times more than the rest of the league put together though? And have a minimum aim of winning the league?

We've earned 3 points more than Motherwell since September, says it all for me.

Everyone uses the Alex Ferguson defense when a manager doesnt start well :56:

Sounds like the chewbacca defence :56:

The cup would probably save his skin, personally I don't think he's got the personality or character to make it as a good Celtic manager. Nice guy but the job is too big for him.

Aye but normally you have somthing to say that he can be good for you, he has shown nothing to say he can be good next season and yet people seem convinced he will win the league.

I mean what is it that convinces you that he can be good for us?

Is it the fact we have been shafted tamely in every competition we have been in, or we are nearly 13 pts behind rangers, we haven't been able to go 3 games on the spin without dropping pts (in the SPL) or our defence hasn't been fixed all season even though it has been costing us all season.

Do you guys think that any of that makes a good manager?

BTW.. ferguson walked into a different man u then there was no where near as much expectation back then like there is now, do you think he would get away with those results now? no fecking chance.
