Before this season started I fIrmly believed Celtic should stay in the SPL,now I equally firmly think our future should lie elsewhere, preferably in England.
Even if Celtic had to join the English League Two I would be glad to see the back of Scottish refs & officialdom.

The only thing that could improve things would be neutral referees, but that won't happen. Walter Smith is delighted with the status quo,for obvious reasons, & McCoist has expressed his sympathy for them.

I will of course continue to support Celtic in their handicapped efforts to win the SPL but I am now firmly with the Celtic Board in their so far doomed efforts to get out.

my mind was already made up that it would be in celtics best interests to get out of the SPL before this horror show.

Sadly it aint our choice if we get into the epl or any other league so I voted no.

I would love us to be playing a better standard of football and have better refs, that aint going to happen unless there is dramatic changes in the SPL. We don't have the right to think we can just go to another league and take the place of another team and therefore take any money that team would receive through TV rights and final league positions. Teams in the EPL that would feel that we were going to jeopardise there position in the league are not going to let that happen, and thats at any level in England.

Would we allow a team into the SPL that was going to finish above us every year? Don't think so!

I've been saying for years we need to get out of this league and into the EPL.

What makes you think that the referees are any better in England. There is no referee bias in Scotland only incompetence. Going by English media reports their referees are just as incompetent as ours. As for continental so called "neutral" referees where did the guy come from who gave the penalty against Boruc at the Arsenal?

I'm sick of this "blame the officials" attitude for the position we are now in, any blame should lay squarely at the door of the players and the management team, they have just not been good enough.

Think the focus should be on making this league better. Like it or not we are a Scottish club, in the Scottish league and will be for rest of our days.
The refs have been getting worse, the SFA are in the worst state I can remember and the standard of everything has dropped right down to the grass (or lack of) that we play on.
So I voted no because I want to see the SPL get better and it may take years but we jsut need to make sure we win titles and have our wee miserable European runs. Sad but true.

The referreing standards are a joke and could easily be seen as agenda driven but much of what goes through the SFA from top to bottom is a joke anyway which makes it harder to say it's bias rather than incompetence..

I don't really want the SPL to get better and I honestly wouldn't care about life for the SPL if Celtic went to pastures new but maybe we could have it both ways and use our reserve side as our SPL team.. I like the idea of finding our level in a league of 20 clubs of similar stature , or something that's further down to begin with but is new and fresh that eventually leads to playing with the big boys on a regular basis..

nah, we've always known the refs are * and the SFA inherently corrupt but thats what makes it all the more satisfying when Celtic win. we are never going to get in the EPL and quite frankly, an Atlantic League would suck, the Champions League is where we need to aim for and the only way we can get into that is to stay in Scotland

i'd rather see us try to change the SFA for the better rather than cut and run; celtic have beaten the SFA before and we will again!!

All great points. Also, refs are probably a lot better than they were 20-30 years ago but now they just look bad because of all the TV replays of every decision. We need to forget about refs and moving to the EPL and just move on outselves.

no referee bias in scotland???????? * me m8,i dont know what games youve been watching but just to highlight the games against the huns, clear penalties-ignored,players kicked off the park-no bookings, goals chalked off for fouls that never happened and offsides that are clearly on!! this bullshit about inconsistencey is utter bullshit. dallas and his poodles at the SFA,would have made it clear this season to help the huns as much as possible, coz the * were ready to fold! they wouldnt be able to hold their heads up in the lodge if they never.

People keep saying this but that just makes it a very very big coinsidence that the vast majority of this incompatence comes AGAINST us and rangers have suffered from this virtually no times this season, infact every referee mistake has gone in their FAVOUR.

Now that is some really well placed incompatence considering they are in financial trouble isn't it.

What a load of rubbish, we are where we are in the SPL for being crap and not showing any fight! It has nothing to do with the referees!

Wouldnt want to go to england. This is the same country that produced a ref, who gave a 3 yellows to a player in one game at a WORLD CUP. Vididc should have saw red in carling cup final, and wasnt even booked for a last man challenge.

Standard of refereeing is no better in the EPL, but biggest thing is the EPL dont want us, they have made that quite clear. We dont have many choices, stick to SPL, cant really see it working in a Euro league, or we go to Ireland. Looks like its the SPL after all. How anyone can see we will never get success in the SPL is beyond me. Have you looked at the history books, we have had success in Scotland and will do again. The point is we are * poor this season, next season our team may buck their ideas up and before you know we are SPL champs again with CL football to look forward to. The more you focus poor results on refs, the more decisions you will feel should have went your way and its never ending cycle and you take your eye off the ball. I would rather be reading in papers everyday about how Celtic are focusing on next season, or Mowbray ripping into players for * performances rather than lets blame the ref for our position. I cant help but feel he his focusing his feelings in the wrong direction just now.

I said before this season we should keep trying to get out, and now I feel nothing but completely vindicated. The SFA is not good enough for Celtic.
