I've been reading a thread created called "WE SHOULD HAVE GOT BROWN"
about how some would take Craig Brown in a second and others don't like the idea one bit, calling him a "dirty orange hun..." But would you rather have...

Walter Smith as manager giving us all success and doing a great job in the Champions League as well as all the Domestic cups here in the SPL, being the favourites to do treble every year, hes in charge.

    OR

Tony Mowbray a manager who doesnt have an answer, plays players out of position, makes us come 2nd to Smith's Rangers team in everything, have an unsuccessful Run to even get to the Europa League and be the worst Celtic team ever.

    Thoughts? you pick?

I follow celtic for the football and not the bigotry so would take Smith if he guaranteed success. I would take anyone who brought us success, i dont care if he fits the celtic minded criteria

It's the Hun Press that bring up the issue of a " Celtic Minded Manager ", I don't think the vast majority of Celtic fans mind who the were the Celtic manager hails from.

You're comparing a man who has had alot of domestic success and many years managing in Scottish football to a guy who hasn't even had his first full season in charge and who has been on the end of some of the most blatant cheating from referee's seen in the SPL, to date.

Ofcourse the majority would choose Smith, given that he is the more successful of the two, but you shouldn't make threads like this as it's just a blatant dig at Mowbray and the guy has took, and is still taking, it from all angles.

It wasn't that long ago that the huns had their "we deserve better" campaign and were wanting Smith put out to pasture because he was "past it" apparently, now, they're all chanting for him to be knighted.

    Fickle fans are we.

Walter Smith wouldn't guarantee us any success. especially in the CL, because I simply can not think of a huns CL success from the past 8000 years.

Of course I would bring in a good manager and don't really care what background he comes from.

Walter Smith lol, i am amazed by what people come out with, i really am.

    1. He would never come
    2. We would never approach him
    3. I dont know any Celtic fan who would accept him

Back to reality, BTMs team is a work in progress. If he is allowed the time to get it right then i think he will bring us success. The issues are:

    1. Fix and settle the defence
    2. Sign wallace, warnock, or mulgrew for lb
    3. Keep loanees
    4. Sign Peterson on Bosman and a rock at cb
    5. Clear some deadwood

Cause finishing third in '93 and fourth in '94 was a breeze compared to this.

Grow up, learn your History, learn something about the game, then try again.

Is it the refs fault we had 2 shots on target and managed no corners in the whole of the last Old Firm game? Is it cheating refs fault we have a shambolic defence and for the main look to be bereft of heart, tactics and ideas?

For goodness sake man open your eyes Mowbray is a complete dud, we need a proper manager like Smith.

    Grand old team
Derry - your talking to a brick wall, some celtic fans cant see through the bullshit the board are feeding to the media - fact is we SHOULD be good enough to beat most teams each week, Blaming refs tho they are poor wont cut it with the fair minded fans...as i said they hoodwinked the gullable fans with the Keane "short fix" signing .....20,000 missing fans = empty seat filler in Keane.....NEVER mind the "REAL" issue of shoring up the defence with at least 2 quality centre backs.and please dont gimmie we tried to sign Ramas and st ledger..we waited till the LAST day yes last day...very professional celtic board to try and do business...if we could find 65k a week for keane we could have found it for St ledger etc.

In fairness lad the board did give us money to spend and i do think we have a squad capable of winning the league at a canter. it is up to BTM and the coaching staff to do the rest. They have had a bad start and have been unlucky and they have to improve no doubt about that.

I agree that another cb and lb are needed but who isnt delighted with the signing of keane? If he stays we will have a 20 goal a year man. I have high hopes for this team, but it is last chance saloon for BTM.

Next summer we will sort the defence out once and for all and if we can hang on to keane we will be unstoppable
