He is a bit old. If he had been free he would have been a good shout as a caretaker manager till the summer.

if mogga had gone (he wont till at least end of season) i'd like to think celtic could attract someone better than craig brown!!

more likely celtic would install someone already at the club as a caretaker like dalglish after barnes; e.g lennon? billy mcneill? or * danny mcgrain!? then again hes just as old!

Why not get Willie McStay back from Hungary? Or Mick McCarthy?

PS - I'm not serious, but it serves to make the point. The point being Brown has a job. We have a manager. All this talk of spitballing ideas for a new manager are all for naught. TM is the manager, and will remain so until such time that either he steps aside or the board consider it appropriate to remove him.

mogga was a rebound. everyone spit the dummy about how WGS played the game in spite of his success and the fact that mogga's philosophy is this flowing, attractive bag of * made him acceptable to the board at the time.

it's like if you split up with a burd who's just a wee lass and then the next burd you jump has to be tall. doesn't matter that she looks like the back of a trolley, just as long as she's tall

100% agree, i was the exact same, when i heard Billic & Martinez were intrested i was over the moon, n then we ended up with a diddy manager who got his last team religated

and here was me thinking that it was the other lot who were bigots. FFS, if he brings us success on the park i dont really care if he is a prod or comes from ayrshire. I always thought Celtic was a football club, not a religious statement. Wasnt Jock Stein one, wasnt one of our lisbon lions a prod, and how many others have done the business on the park for us over the years

My main point about Brown was that he stuck with players instead of bringing in fresh blood, Hendry & Boyd were still getting games for Scotland whilst they weren't playing first team football for their respective teams, and hardly ever gave a player a cap unless they signed for one of the Old Firm.

Guys like McNamara, McCann when he was at Hearts etc were not given their chance, so it left us with a huge gap when Vogts came in, most of Brown's squad retired, & we had very few international players with enough experience at that level.

Don't get me started on his negative tatctics, as for him getting us to major competitions, he did, but he also inherited a decent national squad with experienced players at that level.

It's a personal thing, I just don't like the guy, his style of football etc.

Ultimately, Gordon Strachan had to go because the football was dreech under him. And now someone is suggesting we should have Craig Brown as our manager!? *! The football would be even more dour under Craig Brown than it was under Strachan. In short, many Celtic fans just would not tolerate watching the kind of * Craig Brown would have us playing.

And that's without even mentioning his sash singing antics. Don't like the man at all.

Miles out mate. Seven out of the eleven were prods and the three catholics also must have been part prod I suspect because all 11 starting lions had typical Scottish surnames. Not that that sort of crap should ever matter in a civilised world.

Not for me am afraid would never have been up to the job imo much to big for him, a lot of people have got a right hard on for slavan bilic when he knows * all about scottish football fair enough brown knows a lot but bilic has managed croatia for a few years and done a great job but he untested at club level especially in scotland!!! plg was a great manager but failed big time in scotland.

I am never ever fussed about getting a celtic minded manager as they call it

Nah I wouldnt want him but Jeffries, Levein, Brown etc is probably much nearer to the style of gaffer we need than Mogga is. I would be 100% certain that an old style hard boiled SPL coach of their type would never have got us 13 points behind. Mogga has pretentions beyond our means.

Bilic would be a huge gamble IMO. After Mogga we need to go for solid experienced manager who is extremely organised. The last thing we need is another gamble on a 'personality'.
