Call me crazy or whatever you like but here are my two pennies.

Celtic are in a financially sound position all things considering. If we look at the money that Portsmouth have and how they collapsed and compare it to our own position, we have Lawell to thank for anticipating the financial squeeze. Do we go all out and win the league and suffer ruin or hardships or do we slowly build to keep ahead of our bluenose counterparts? I would prefer the latter.

Secondly, there are major stakeholders in the SPL as far as advertising and many other investments which effect the local economy of Glasgow as well as the overall image of scottish football which is not the most high profile league as we know.

Now heres the theory, if Rangers were to face financial ruin where does that leave Celtic? Scottish football? Media? and several jobs? In my opinion this * abt a recession being over is nothing but a false sense of security to re invigorate the markets and have people spend again. The SPL have made glaring mistakes!

A golden handshake to Rangers through the avenue of refereeing decisions. Rangers must stay afloat for their sake or many heads will roll. This to me is the SPLs way of securing this by ludacrous decisions which are glaringly obvious to anyone.

However the one security they have is that not alot of people follow the SPL as closely as the EPL. If this happened to Alex Ferguson or Wenger youd be sure it would be looked at by review. T

he fact of the matter is that the SPL can do as they please to create drama= attract viewers(which they need)= bad publicity is good publicity= Sets the league up next year for a Celtic revival. The SPL is relying on one thing MARKETING. How to sell it? Controversy and we are the victims of our own success. The EPL sells itself. The SPL are the reverse. They have to get people to buy into it no matter what the outcome.

A 60,000 seater stadium and we still host the likes of Killie and Falkirk. One week we are in the Nou Camp then to Inverness. No wonder players leave. This again allows the league to have an unpredictability and the SPL I am sure are happy to sit there and not advance Scottish Football any further. Can Rangers survive without us? NO because they need us more than we need them and the SPL know the only way to ensure this is to cheat, lie, beg steal and borrow and place any obstacle in our way that will prevent rangers from having the payout they need for the next few years. Otherwise we could easily migrate to the SPL. Theyd rather have us than the thugs that wrecked manchester and have a wrap sheet longer than the gallowgate.

Call me nuts or watever u want and maybe i went off the point there but thats my 2 pennies.

Its a version of the OLD FIRM theory that no matter what, we need each other. Even maybe to the point of agreeing between each other to ensure Rangers survival through a few titles and CL wins. Rangers have had their two best ever profits in the last 3 years and have againt all odds made a good dent in their debt. Another year or two or titles and CL money and their survival is probably assurred. Its one of the few conspiracy theories that I could believe. Is Mogga the fall guy, a guy hand picked in order to fail:97::97::97::97::icon_mrgreen:

Although I understanding your reasonings imo I just think it's a bit of paranoia. If the Celtic footballers played their best then we would put away so many goals we could handle plenty more decisions against us. We haven't reached our potential and Rangers did. End of.

Still a disgusting amount of decisions against us though! :p

Interesting theory but think it's much more simple than that- most refs are huns with whistles. End of story

Would be surprised if they had made their two best profits when compared to their debt levels. Im sure they have cleared some of the debt, but as an overall % of the debt and the cost of servicing the debt I would imagine they would still need a minimum of 4 good seasons, with CL football each season to put themselves on as good a footing as their backers would hope for. There is no way they are out of the poo yet, not by a long way.

The huns can get themselves out of bother.. While they are winning their value of players goes up..

They could easily get £5m a piece for Davis and Bougherra and regardles of bad publicity they could still get a good £3m to £4m or more for * while Thomson is now getting good reviews again so there's another few million.. It may weaken them to some large degree but it would immediately put them in a much stronger financial position.. They haven't been buying but they haven't been selling either..

The good thing from our point of view is that despite the 10 points to 13 point gap (it's not a proper guide of where we both stand as clubs) we are unlikely to become a much worse team than they are , so no matter what they do , keeping the same team or selling to improve finances , they will always be one step away from dropping back to being in our shadow at some point in the near future.. Only a buyer with deep pockets will be able to change that for them..
