I think Hooiveld and Ras were bought with this in mind, character and personality as well as ability.

I like Hinkel, I think he is cracking modern right back and I also like McGeady because in full flow he is a joy to watch at any level of football. It's easy to look at everything Celtic do at the minute through a pessimists eyes but there are decent elements to our squad that can't be shot down purely because the defence have been worse than * this season.

Uhhh...what about andy hinkel or artur boruc. Andy has done nothing but amaze me this season, done very well and is the most consistent of our players. Boruc, is getting back to his world class ways, and this will help us next season, a season without mowbray

I'm sorry but are you comparing the greats Paul McStay + Neil Lennon to the likes of Robson? If i've got it wrong I apologise but if I don't then..........................:bbpd:

There are a lack of characters in our team. I would still have a lot of affection for Maloney and I kind of like NGuemo. Other than them the teamsheet is changing so much and we have sold so many characters that it doesn leave a lot to feel particularly connected. IMO, the current team is very close to being a complete write off in terms of the blend of types of players. It look all wrong at the moment. Maybe once Rass, Joos and Maloney are back it wont feel so like that but I really hate the mix. I looked at the Scotland team tonight and for the first time in ages there were loads of players in the 11 and on the bench who I think would be good for us. In fact that Scotland team was more solid in most positions than the current Celtic one. Its been years since I thought that. Depressing.

    True.

But what are we going to do about it ? I can't see Mowbray being able to do anything about it. He likes his players to play nice attractive football.

This is a classic discussion that highlights our biggest issue: The managers inability to get the best out of his squad, to motivate his team and build leaders and men.

So what happens? we round on the players, either all of them or one or two that have had either a duff season or having a bad run or letting down in key matches.

Of course its someones fault that we are 13 points behind those * penniless klingons....... so it has to be the team, or the refs or the linesmen...anyone but the guy who's job description it is to * well turn it around.

I can guarantee that if we had a gaffer that could get these guys to believe in themselves and play for the shirt with passion, organization and a pair of balls we would not be trying to find out 'who's to blame'.

I mean we have gone from beating AC Milan and the giants of Europe to squabbling paranoid wrecks bleating on about conspiracy theories whilst we get hammered and I mean hammered into second by a club that is financially on its knees.

Much respect to WS for churning out results and forging a solid team but they are by no means a classic Ger's side...not by a mile..their European results show that. Meanwhile we lurk in their shadow fighting amongst each other with captain untouchable at the helm having spent millions of hard earned cash.

This never ending merry go round of discussions will end when we chop away the part timers, get a solid squad who are staying, chuck out that muppet Sammy, play Rass and start rolling up the sleeves.

TM is the only one in question here, he alone holds that responsibility. I mean look at the performance of key players who should be performing: Brown has descended into madness, McGeady is playing like a mentalist wi no heed', Fortune is erratic ....at best.................and the rest will all * off back to wherever they can when the loans finish. The only ray of sunhsine is the 2 youngsters at the back and they have barely played or shown that hey can be consistent.

And consistency is exactly what TM seems unable to deliver, it is what wins leagues and silverware......... .

He must answer for his results this season, the shareholders and fans deserve at the very least an apology and a very good reason why he should not get a P45...because I cannot see a single one.

If action is not taken at the seasons end then truly as a club we have lost our way when we let the captain take the ship down without a whimper....sad.......very sad.

I do not think the manager gets it TBH. Style should be the last thing on a managers mind. He wants us like the Harlem Globetrotters. I think its nearly always a disaster fatal if a manager bases their approach on style. See the way we play the prettiest football but we simply bounced off Rangers every time we attacked and they just completely overpowered and outthought us? That was pure 2nd half of the 1990s for me. There is more to building a team than having the best technical players or playing with the best style. Why are we having to learn this all over again when we have been here before so recently in our history? No * ever mention the Celtic way again. To me, in terms of actual effectiveness, Mogga has broken up a team that 90% of the time knew how to win and replaced it with a mix of players that looks better on papaer but is all wrong as a team and who do not look like being winners any time soon to me Why do people kid themselves that refs are the issue. Watch the OF Game again and we had been getting pummeled for 21 minutes before Broony got sent off. That was nearly half of the 2nd half getting hammered. We simply had a collection of players with no ability to cope in these game.

very true Gunt the first 20 mins of the second half, i said to my lad
that they are on top and we were loosing the battle.we were not good enough and it showed.the sending off deflected the poor form away for a while.we were never going to score with 11 men nevermind 10

as for loan signings they are just here out of the rain and not good enough to earn a spot in there own team ,a few might have something to offer

    sad time in deed

I'm quite affectionate towards most of the team to be honest.

I'm not warming to Braafheid as much as I normally would as he's leaving in the summer. Same goes for Kamara and Keane.

The only permanent players I don't really like are O'Dea, McGowan, Sheridan and Mizuno. To be fair to Mizuno, he hasn't played much but he should be moved on in the summer if the manager doesn't think he's good enough.

would have had McDonald before any of them at top of my list but unfortunately the manager didnt rate him.

as for players not fit to wear the jersey Samaras I have never seen anything from him to say he even merits a squad place and finding it hard to take to Zhi as he adds nothing

Like I said, I like most of our players but the ones I like more than the rest would be:

    ARTUR BORUC

    Robbie Keane
    Marc Crosas
    Scott Brown

I've also quite taken to Rasmussen from the little I've seen of him. Need to see more of him though.

Keeping Mogga for another season would be an act of pure faith based on asolutely no evidence that it is working and a mountain of evidence that it is now. The post-window team is substantially poorer than he pre-window one IMO. Had that window not existed I suspect we would only be a few points behind. he loans seemed like desperation and other than Keane I do not rate them anyway. A big waste of money. I suspect the sheer cost of bringing him is what is keeping him in a job.

Genuine affection for Hinkle and Boruc. Fortune I've always wanted to do well and delighted he's doing the business :)
