Celtic set to offload No.1 Artur Boruc in summer sale

ARTUR BORUC is set to leave Celtic in the summer.
MailSport can reveal a decision has been made to try to move the Poland keeper on at the end of the season.
Boruc - the highest-paid player in the SPL on around £30,000 a week - is contracted until June 2011 but due to the general economic downturn and falling revenue at Parkhead, he will not be offered an extension.
Instead, he will be offloaded and Celtic hope to get a fee of around £3.5million which is preferable to losing him on a Bosman a year later. I understand Bundesliga giants Hamburg have declared an official interest in Boruc.
They want a new No.1 in the summer and will have cash to spend. Bayern Munich have been longtime admirers of Boruc and will also consider him in the summer.
Tony Mowbray has compiled a list of goalkeeping targets.
Some are in the bracket of a straight replacement for Boruc and others would be considered back-up should Lukasz Zaluska be given the nod as No.1.

Lets hope not ! Our saviour today, stopped it from being an embarassment.
He is world class. Zaluska, though a good keeper, is not in his league.

Aye clearly "falling revenue" when we can afford to pay £65,000 a week for Keane to have a kick about.

 

That was the rumour just before the game, typical crap to unsettle us before kick-off. And I doubt there's much truth in this.

The decision was probably made a while ago when Boruc's form had dipped.
However it is ironic that this news has come out after Boruc has probably had one of his best ever performances against Rangers.

Hope not, only one with oassion today, no one welse looked as though they had it, wouldnt let him go for 3.5 thats very poor for a keeper of his standard also Zaluska couldnt lace his boots in my opinion

 

Boruc was great today! Dont seel him if he keeps that form up!

 

I would hate to see Boruc go... I would hate to see him go to a team like Hunburg even more.

 

He saved us getting a hiding today, he hates the filth and we need to negotiate a new contract with the Artur Boruc that played today, not the one that plodded his way through the last few seasons, come on big man a bit more of that please.

 

I would happily accept 3.5 million for him. People need to look beyond the 'holy goalie' pish and analyse his game.

Yes he had a good game today but generally speaking:

* he is suspect at crosses
* his kicking is *
* he is at least half a stone overweight
* he has lost his swagger
* his injuries have taken their toll and his shot-stopping has suffered

Ready made replacement is Zaluska if you ask me

we are making a BIG mistake if we let him go for 3.5 million times that by 4 then ill think about it again today he proved to be a world class goalie tell him to lose a stone and he will be even better arthur is the best goalkeeper we have had full stop

id cry if we sold him, we are going to be a mess next year, why do we need to sell him when rangers are keeping all their players
