As amatter o' fact I'm Canadian-Scottish and I've been a Tim since birth, and when the team is at their worst or best it's never one players fault.

Nice welcome to the forum also. You didn't deny your obvious strong Polish/Zurawski links as are evident from you post history. As i have said all along, at the games it is apparent to me that Magic does not offer outball option enough and is not effective in dealing with them when he does unless its a ball played in front of him. I have no dislike for the man or for any of u lot but the majority of you cannot have a debate without resorting to abuse.

Do..you..read..the..thread..before..answering? I have, countless times, accepted he scores goals but so has Kris Boyd, Craig Dargo, Derek Roirdan and Paul Hartley. I'm trying to get someone to convince ME his all round game merits him a game for a club our size.

Without going into too many details I feel, Zurawski has a helluva lot more to offer in next seasons CL than Hartson does! :87:

okay first of all he scored a ripper against england, one touch into the top corner of the net, the others, yeh they aren't exactly top class...but go back a few years with wisla...when they did mircales in the UEFA cup...the man scored 2 goals against parma, schalke, lazio, in which he had ripper games.....he can play against top quality opposition, i've followed him for a couple of years now and he is a consistent bloke, and it's showing yet again! at celtic....once upon a time he played fore the NT and didnt find his rythm for a long while, he was criticized as not NT material but now he's gonna be the one that we're all watching to produce some stuff..and isnt it funny? the man who came out as top scorer of the group was Zurawski with 7 goals to his name along with Frankowski. Lampard and Owen behind with 5 and 4 "respectively"

and yes i cbf looking back seeing wat else he did meaning i'm sure i've missed a fuckload of * he's done..

    Wow wat a * thread.. 20 goals with a 2 month injury..

joehill2006, your either blind a hun or a complete and utter idiot, just incase you didnt notice its a strikers job to score goals in order to win games, maciej has scored 20 with 26 starts. How on earth could you be complaining about that..

and dont go saying "sure he can score goals but what about his workrate and style of play".. gezz get a * clue my friend.

magic scores again, and works his * off again, * he was always ready for the ball and in a position to get it last night, the final passes to him werent great (except wilsons ball across the goal). he wasnt getting the ball played quick enough to him and seemed that the lines man put the flag up every time he was forward.
his game will improve an i can remember him, and other polish fans sying that this wasnt his best so i guess we hav that 2 look forward to. hail hail zurawski

yea mate I know what you feel. What can I say I know Magic for a longer time than you because I'm from Cracow and I'm a supporter of Wisla where Magic was playing for many years and I must tell that Maciej now is not even half of the player that I remember but I'm sure it's not because of his age (because he plays realy well in national team) but because he and his team mates are still learining how to play with each other.

So... Maciej is a strong point of Celtic right now but as I have said many times I'm sure he will play better next season...

What about "world class"? If he is not world class he is surely european class and he proved it many times scoring goals and playing great matches in our national team and in Wisla Cracow. For example he scored many goals against: Inter Milan, Ac Parma, Schalke 04, Lazio, Anderlecht and many more...

Some of the responses in this thread and some others have been appalling. Calling people huns, etc because they have an opinion on a player thats different to yours. If you cant debate or communicate your opinion without resorting to personal abuse, dont bother posting anything.

Zurawski is not World Class imo, that term is reserved for the elite, Henry & Ronaldinho are the only two at the moment. He is good but is a grade or two away from the class of Eto'o, Villa, Shevchenko, Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Raul, Imbrahimovic etc

    No personal abuse please.

First of all, welcome joehill2006 to this site.

I really think his workrate is good. He is a pacey player, team player, good finisher and causes damages to any spl defense with his pace. I spose he will be even better next season. Im highly pleased with his efforts and performances after his injury.

Of course he is not larsson, nobody is, only henrik larsson is henrik larsson, magic zurawski is magic zurawski.

Dont want to start another slagging-off-hartson-thread, he is a grand finisher imo and can hold and allocate balls, but compared to zurawski he walks like 10 km less a match plus cant offer the polish pace either.

I don`t think we`ve seen the best of Magic yet. He`s a great finisher. Makes runs non stop dragging defenders away.

I think a lot of people expect him to do what Larsson did and come back to half way line and play as an extra midfielder but he`s not going to. He`s going to sty up front and bang in the goals for us. He`ll be great for us.

Don't want to compare him with Larsson..never... but I think Maciej doesn't play as an extra midfielder because WGS doesn't want him to play like that. Magic in his Wisla days was not a player who stayed up front waiting for the balls, he was creator of Wisla attacks, he played as an extra mid that's why apart from many goals he scored he had also many assists. for example in season 2004/2005 - 24 goals, 15 assists. season 2003/2004 - 20 goals, 15 assists.
This means Magic is a player who can play as extra mid and what is more he likes to play like that...

What is his assist count this year? He`s set up a few hasn`t he?

Don`t think we need any more midfielders anyway. Naka, Maloney, Petrov, Lennon and Keane have all the places taken I think. Might have a few less next year tho.

Can see Strachans thinking here. He is a quality finisher and I prefer to see him up front than coming back.

I accept everyone's view point and have not slagged off his finishing contrary to what has been said, i just have reservations about the rest of his game. I favour at least one of our strikers to be available for link up etc whereas i see both of ours as different kind of target men, Magic playing on the shoulder and John looking for balls up to his chest/head. I do think some people are taking for granted the likes of Hartson etc and revelling in the novelty of new players. If both Hartson and Magic were free agents i think Hartson would be the more sought after.
