We do need someone capable of winning aerial duels in the middle of the field.

Im hopeful we can get N'Guemo , but obviously it's dependant on him playing well and not being approached by other clubs , for a transfer to go through..I've heard it said any deal is "watertight" so he's ours if we want him but there's also got to be some input from the player as to where he decides to go so it might never happen anyway..

The aerial duels thing is something we are missing.. While not being a big fan of the style of Mculloch , he does a decent no frills job for the huns which I think is proof that having height and a physical prescence in central midfield can compensate for not being the best user of the ball but we had close to that in Robson and he clearly wasn't TM's type of player...

Zhi and to an extent Ki fit the same build as Mculloch, and if the tenacious little man partnership of N'Guemo and Brown , or Crosas are not dominating by the summer and Ki doesn't have a combative or defensive side to his game then it will still need to be sorted.. (I have yet to see enough of him to make any kind on judgement on his defensive play)
In January I saw Kevin Nolan's name crop up a few times by fans looking for answers and although he's probably out of the clubs price range and heading for the premiership , he's definately the type of player that would add some steel to the team as well as goals..

Man, I like them both, but I've got to say they aren't the scrapper type. Ki may be tall, but I think he hasn't got the mindset to be as brutal as McCulloch.

He does what he does well; winning the ball back and breaking down the opposition. He's no Neil Lennon but the potential is there and for £1.5million hes a good signing.

I think when he gets the positional sense right in games(admittedly not always),he is a wee cracker,he's defo caught up with the speed of our game and along with his defensive 'spoiling',has got a wee bit of technique as well.

Very true that. There was a noticable hole in our midfield while he was away at the African Nations. I thought so anyway.

Sign him up asap imo! I think we're spoiled for CM players. I feel sorrow for Crosas who pretty much got dropped despite playing in the best form he's had his entire career probably. I want to see more Ki as well after all the hype, moments of genius when he's been on so far.

i honestly hope we dont sign him .. he was good at the start but recently he has been terrible! i was at the kilmarnock game and he got pushed about by young guys who dont make quater of what he is getting.. i really hope we dont sign him and sign a midfielder with a bit of dig about him who wont get thrown off the ball so easily.. those who dont beleve this and think he is hard n stuff lets c him against rangers! lee mcullock will batter him about! :(

For £1.5m he is a fair dinkum steal !!! My question would be, why hasn't the club made moves to make the deal permanant? Could it be that N'Guermo has already been attracting sufficiant interest from other parties, that he is wanting to leave his options open for as long as possible?

I think hes a good player tbh. Hes brilliant at tracking back to get the ball, when he holds up hes a bit worrying. But i would sign him at the end of the season :50:

Despite him being here for a while, im still very much on the fence with him. I watched him against Moscow in the 2nd leg and he was brilliant, next few games he was very average. For me he loses the ball too much, his workrate is excellent, he covers every inch of grass but his shooting is pathetic (Surely a footballer should be able to strike a ball cleanly, are the coaches working on this, his shot last week in 2nd half was his best since he arrived) and he isnt the tidiest player because he loses the ball in dangerous areas. However, he is a player that we do seem to miss when he doesnt feature and he has fight and determination in him which is always good to see, he wins his fair amount of tackles also. IF and it is a huge if, he can be more tidy on the ball and impress for rest of season, i think we should sign him for 1.5m.

I really like him.Only player in our team prepared to do the dirty work and I shudder to think what state we'd be in without him.
