Quite a long interview with John Hartson on why we're not good enough to win the league this sesaon. Perhaps the most telling quote is about the defence "They are leaking far too many goals, they are not tight enough, they are not brave enough to put their head through the ball."

If you think you can bear to read the whole thing, you can find it on BBC News.

He's got a point. Hopefully they'll be some good signings lined up for the summer and then we can put this season behind us. Winning the cup would be good too.

ill probably be slated for this but ever since Hartson was idolised by us with the massive get well campaign he has an air of arrogance about him and Celtic now, as if he was some kind of Hall of Fame hero

he was good but he needs to tone it down a bit, his articles in the paper smack of arrogance

After watching the highlights again on Sportscene, I noticed that for Aberdeen's 4th goal, Broony actually jumped and attempted to control the ball with his foot when he really should have put his head through it and got it clear.

Astute observation from the big chap.

IMO to many ex players of clubs have to much to say. in this instance just because hartson was involved with celtic dosent mean he should keep going on about them all the time even if he is asked. you wouldnt hear roy keane blabbing on about utd, he has got his own business to deal with. he was asked would he be watching the utd v milan matches and he said he couldnt care less about them. granted he has a game tonight. :icon_mrgreen:

Well he is correct about our defense, it is shocking, thats why rangers are 10 points in front, because they are a solid unit, especially at the back. Thats why when i hear about one of their attackers is injured i couldn't give a toss becaus their defense is what wins them games most of the time.

One major mistake from Celtic is selling Gary Caldwell. He always got his head on the ball he was a SPL veteran, like Weir, he knew how the SPL worked. He did a lot of the tough * people like Loovens/O'dea haven't got the minerals to do. Its a * shame every one of the faithful through and through crew got his back post-scotland sending off, before that he was the best defender in Scotland by a country mile. It's going to take a while to gel a new CB into our spine.

Nah mate, what I have done, is listened to Hartsons interview, and agree with every answer he gave to the questions posted to him in their entirety.

What exactly would you want him to say when asked those questions???

Mcgeady should never have given the ball away up the field prior to their corner which got them their equalizer, it was sloppy as *. All he had to do was run it in the corner but he just basically handed it to the Aberdeen player.

Never thought I'd see someone question Brown on bravery :56:

I dunno, we definately have the individual talen advantage over Rangers. But like that interview re-iterated, the Rangers team is just so strong defensively. The have a strong, settled, hard-working core and they have players who can take their chances.

    We aren't ruthless enough.

He wasn't brave enough in that instance.

I don't question his bravery but he wasn't when he needed to be on Sat.

That just makes you sound ridiculous.

because you are beeling that he has said something that doesnt come into the way some delusional celtic fans think ex players should talk, you say he is arrogant as if he was some kind of superstar.

I emplore every person thats reading this thread to listen to the interview, and see if there is even an incline of arrogance in John Hartson. Honest big player, honest man!

    get a grip mate!

He IS a hall of fame hero - and he's right about Celtic. We are not good enough and he is well within his rights to say so. And, yes, I think you should be slated for claiming that experiencing testicular and brain cancer has made him arrogant because Celtic fans wish him well.
