There's a difference between 'No Rome in a Day' and shooting yourself in the foot. Mowbray's tactic's yesterday when we were 4-2 up lost us the game and then the players....

Alarm bells should have been ringing when Tony arrived at Celtic Park bragging about West Brom and the squad turnover was huge - how he started with a squad of 30-40 and by the time he left, he still had the same amount but only 2 of those he started with (Greening, Robinson). This says to me that he's a guy who can't coach and thinks he should buy success.

The lack of cohesion in the defence suggests a lack of coaching. The lack of fight suggests he can't motivate.

Yes, Celtic needed some freshening up by the time Gordon Strachan's time ended but did we need dismantling? I was relieved to see Shelton Martis sign for Doncaster in the transfer window, it meant that Tony couldn't bring him to Celtic. Tony has signed the likes of Fortune, Kamara, Zheng, Ki and used Samaras and in truth, none of these are any more effective than Paul McGowan.

At the moment, my feeling is to bring in John Collins. He'd cost nothing in compensation, he's strong-willed and would instill determination back in the squad. I think he'd bring through the younger players sensibly.

spot on , if we sack him now well have to bring in another manager at TMs level then well have to go through another year off transition and no doubt the same moaners will be back next season saying the same crap about the new manager if it doesnt work out ,

yes your right to an extent but this is scotland there are only 2 clubs who can win the league.1 of them is in the worst financial state its been for almost 30 years with a threadbare squad while 1 has spent £11m+ on new players doesnt take a genius to work out which one should be in a healthier position.looking at the current scenario(transitional season or not)you would think the roles were reversed.

We got what we wished for?

Surely it must be the end of the season for a thread like this.

    hounded out a born winner?

Strachan won * all in management before he came here and played against a Rangers squad who were in turmoil throughout most of his reign. The one and only time Rangers really put up a fight against Strachan, he lost the league.

. Everyone was moaning about the defence we had last year and everyone including myself wanted to get rid and bring in new defenders, and he did jos hooiveld swedish player of the year ,- bradfield bayern munich defender , rogne , hes given caddis a chance the boy who folk on here thought DESERVED his chance , and thomspon who strachcan bought now TMs given him his chance and bar yesterday hes been good , and yes we conceded 4 against aberdeen but 3 of our 1st defenders are injured atm he cant work miracles . and hes defintly improved our midfield and strike force you argue that , well start fresh next year when he'll have a year of experience under his belt and his OWN team to work with and keep in mind he wont be up against an experienced manager like smith:31:

    Mowbray ? Aye Right

Lets all defend mowbrayyy weyyy heyyyyyyyyyy ! Stuff that he can take himself and his no passion back stafff to fuckk ! He has shown no sign of improvement at all ! he throws skillfull players on the pitch and hopes they win .. No * thaught about how the other team is going to play. Im sick of people sticking up for the guy. Get a grip honestly cant you see he DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE !!!!

Cant believe he is going to lead us into a Old Firm game in 2 weeks time.. Better prepare ourselves for another slaggin tbh ..

And no i am not a hater .. i like the guy but he is too nice .. Nice guys dont win Titles sorry ..

I agree with the 'No Rome in a Day', It is obvious that the team is going to have to slowly rebuilt to meet achievements set by past managers such as Martin O'neill in Europe. However I think it is ridiculous to suggest that it's not possible for us to win trophies domestically without waiting till next season so Mowbray can rebuild our team.

I think the excuse 'but decent players are more expensive nowadays' is quite a lousy one, the same goes for everyone else in the SPL, and we can certainly afford to bring in a better calibre bring than near administration Rangers who are still a considerable amount of points ahead of us. We are dropping points against other teams on a very regular basis who's average player costs a fraction as to what an average celtic player costs.

There just no excuse, 'No Rome In a Day'? We shouldn't need a Rome to win the SPL.
