I believe if we are to push for the title this year we must find the correct partnerships in the Central areas of the pitch.

Central partnerships and understanding are key to a team playing well. We need to find the correct understanding in these parterships along with the correct balance.

I dont believe we can afford to keep changing our CB, CM and ST parterships, unless we have injuries or a dip in form. Tony will have watched the squad in training and have an idea of what the best partnerships are, I think we must try to get some consistency in the Central areas of the pitch.

My central line-up going on performances we've seen so far would be:

    Hooiveld..Loovens

    N'Guemo..Brown

    Keane.. Rassmussen

Hooiveld and Loovens looked solid when they were together and with them both being Dutch they will possibly have a better understanding of each other.

N'Guemo and Brown can both play defensive roles in the midfield but they can also both go forward. N'Guemo plays Centre Attacking Midfield for Cameroon and Brown played just behind the striker at Hibs. This allows one to go and one to stay, creating the right balance in midfield. It also allows both to stay if we're concentrating on defending or likewise when desperate for a goal.

Keane is at his best beside a poacher in my opinion becuase he likes to come deep for the ball alot, Rasmussen will get his fair share of goals. With Keane being the star of the show, this allows Rasmussen a little more freedom and Rasmussen will punish teams if Keane can assist him.

I'm not saying these are the correct partnerships to go with but we really must see some consistency in the Central areas of the pitch, for the team to begin to understand one and other and move in the correct direction.

    Thoughts?

I agree with you apart from the Nguemo part, id rather have davie ki in there instead, ive never been a nguemo fan, but aslong as crosas isnt there then that has to be a positive.

I'm not sure Brown and N'Guemo can work together - it didn't seem to work that well earlier in the season/ For me it's about finding someone to partner Landry - he's our best CM player atm.

Given TM's penchant for chopping and changing at every and any opportunity, as much as there are clear benefits of such a move, can you really see it happening?

I think TM is going to play a 433/451. I think hes gonna play a back 4 and 3 centre midfeilders. Up front Rasmussen will lead the line, Keane playing off him. And one out of Kamara, Sammy, Fortune, or Mc Geady as a kinda wing forward.

    ..................Boruc........

    Hinkel..Hooiveld..Loovens..Braafheid

    ..................Nguemo........
    .............Brown....Ki......

    ........Keane....Rasmussen.....?

I would go with a CM pairing of N'Guemo and Ki.
However Brown is captain so doubt it!

If you fancy having a read of my post history you'll see that I've rarely 'jumped on the bandwagon'.

N'Guemo is the best tackler in our team, which makes him ideal for a ball winning midfielder. He also has the pace to track a player's run and the vision to intercept a pass. He might be on the small side but his body strength is excellent which is why he very rarely gets out muscled. This alone would make him a good shout to be included in the first 11.

But he's also a reasonably talented dribbler, and if you watch him when he gets the ball, he always looks for the forward pass, which fits into to Mowbray's vision of quick, forward thinking football. His technique is again good for a DM, which means his passing accuracy is quite high.

Lastly, he plays in a much more attacking role for Cameroon which means, if we need him to, he can play further up the field, making his versatility an important asset.

I'd be more than happy to read your arguments in favour of any other CM over N'Guemo.

Spot on with N'Guemo, can TM not look at positive's of each player and pick his best 11,you never know what might happen

hooiveild - loovens (til next window) would replace loovens

    nguemo- brown

keane - rassa (til next window) when/if keane goes would buy another speedy partner for rassa

I can never see Brown and N'Guemo working - both are too "gung-ho" positionally, where as before N'Guemo could do his harraying anchored by the more positionally aware Crosas. Brown and N'Guemo are too similar, unless employed in a 3 man midfield.

So I reckon TM's first choice pairing is Brown / Ki with N'Guemo / Crosas being the direct alternative or backup.

Up front Fortune and Keane is clearly the first choice with Samaras and/or Rasmussen coming on when we're chasing things.

At the back once injuries etc clear up it will be Loovens and Hooiveld.
