He is a decent player, blighted by injuries. Can't ever see him playing in preference of Hinkel, however still think he is worth a place in the squad, as he can cover both FB slots, and is a far more defensive minded FB than alot of the other guys we have.

    His knees are knackered

Wilson's a good we player- but his knees are in a real state and I can see the lad having to retire early!:38:

I think this is what is hoklding him back!

Nothing against him but should never have been signed in the first place given his injury record. He was at his level with Dundee Utd and will return to that level in the close season but good luck to him.

I wonder how much we've spent on him in terms of signing fee, wages & medical bills Versus number of 1st team games played.

I bet he's on more per game over his contract than Robbie Keane.

Shame, good enough utility player & Scottish - we need a certain amount of these players at the club, much like Caddis in that respect...good enough wee player, very versatile - but probably never going to be quite good enough to make a position truly his own.

Obviously he did very well when we signed him first but after that first season has just never been injury free for long and never able to recover his early form. Having said that he did fine when he was in the side earlier and you need to have cover at right back and in that role I think Mark Wilson still does a good job for us. Probably though given his long run of never been injury free he will be sold in the summer and Paul Caddis looks like a solid back up at right back as a ready made replacement.

wilson has been unlucky with injuries as i think he's a decent fulll back but Hinkel is still the main man at RB and tbh i am flabbergasted at people saying his crossing his *!! whit!!!??? he has the most assists in our team and his crossing is generally of a high standard. and he isnt too bad at defence despite what some might say

people seem to cream themselves over paul caddis, who has always been fairly average and his crossing isnt up to much as demonstrated at the weekend there. caddis is a decent back up RB but is he better than Hinkel? absolutely not.

Think all the recent 'Caddis is brilliant' talk is symptomatic of us as Celtic fans. We all want the next Paul McStay to emerge from the ranks of the youth/internal system, so every game that Caddis misses, with some people's perceptions he is better than he is... and this isn't the first time, look at how many comments were made about O'Dea & how people were looking to the day he returned, despite him doing sweet FA with Reading. *, I remember during MO'N's time that people werre calling for McManus in the same vein.

Caddis could do worse than to look at a few tapes of Wilson. Won't learn much going forward, but he is a decent defender. Not saying he is Maldini-esque, but atm his defensive play is much better than Caddis.
