I'm not sure if we will see the quality of Larsson again at Paradise, I hope so, but really it was a stroke of Genius and luck. Keano doesn't have Henk's technical ability but he would be Prolific for Celtic.

Have abstained from voting as the was the poll was structured is completely subjective.

Having said that, I can only trust those observers who had the great fortune of watching wee Jinky on a regular basis, and their collective judgement is that he was the finest of them all. Larsson was justifiably named in the team of the greatest Celts ever. There are not enough superlatives to describe the contributions that these 2 have made to the club.

Keane has been here a little over a month, and will likely be gone again at the end of May. He is a quality footballer, no doubt. However, to compare him against a calibre of player that have on their CV, amongst other honours, European football's highest prize, the European Cup, is premature to say the least. We will see what happens with time, but in many ways, Keane's career has been one of what might have been.

Are you mental???? Very good player but he is barely a speck of footnote in Celtic history. He is not even near for instance Skippy or JVOH or even Zaruwski in what he has done for the club. In a chart of what a player has done for Celtic across our 100+ year history he would probably be in a no. 200 or something. He is a very decent player but he is nothing in our history. He has not been here 5 minutes. If he stayed another season, did well and we won the title then he might have a place but if he only plays the season he will remain a small footnote.

Keane will have a place similar to Bellamy. Both great players who in theory could have been important if they had given us at least 3 or 4 years. The problem with Keane is that unlike Bellamy, the vast majority of games he will play for us are meaningless or of limited interest.

Same bracket as Larsson and Jinky? No, never

A 6 month loan would never even lace the boots of what those players did for Celtic. This thread is an insult to their achievements imo

I agree. Even if Keane scores a hat-trick v the huns in the cup final, he will still not reach the same level as Jinky or Henrik.

voted for larsson only because i wasnt old enough to have seen jink at his peak and seen almost every game the king of kings played for us and in my mind will always be the greatest.in terms of ability keano is probably in the same bracket but will never be held in the same aclaim as those 2 unless he signs on but that is highly unlikely but he is pure class did you see the way he was actually directing the play for the 2nd today he was pointing out the passes at the back post before they actually happened and that made it my favourite of the 3 although it was the least spectacular.i think a more fitting comparison for a thread would have been keano and bellamy

keane doesnt have enough time left in his career to gain anything mear the same status as larsson or jinky. even if he were to sign for the rest of his career he doesnt have enough time to make that kind of impact. he is an excellent player but he will never be as good as the king of kings never ming the greatest celt of all time

This thread must be a joke eh?

The worst thing is, I can't believe there is 5 people on this forum insane enough to vote for Keane.

It's a disgrace and it's disrespectful to two proper Celtic legends that this question was even asked.

Shocked that so many people have put Larsson. IMO, first is Jinky by a mile. Second is Larsson by a mile. Third is Keane.

Think the fact that wee Jinky was named as the greatest ever Celt sort of sums up the esteem with which he is held. And as I previously noted Larsson was justifiably selected in the 'Greatest Ever Celtic Team', a team, I might add I would agree with a single modification. As great a player as Dalgliesh was, his best years were at Liverpool, and I'd personally have had included McGrory in his stead. 550 goals takes some beating !

Sorry for swerving off topic there.
