as MAF said if we will all our remaining games we will win the league. We have the players capable of this but we need to find a formation that suits them and we need them to gel quickly

I can count on one hand the amout of times we have been good this season and that never happens at celtic!

So the law of averages says we have to put a good run of form together at some point!....Hopefully

I hate it wen ppl say "we still have 2 old firm games left"

We got 1 point out of 6 in the previous 2 games, what makes you think we are guarenteed 6 points from ibrox and celtic park in our remaining 2 games?

The fact is, we will drop points from now until the end of the season, so rangers will have to drop a * load for us to over take them.

I do like the optimism guys but......its over.

I still deep down think we can do it, I would be really confident if we had won the other night and then it was 10 pts gap rather than losing and the gap being 10pts if you know what I am trying to say ha ha

i know wot every1 is saying and i accept ppl are still saying we can do it, and im actually glad there are ppl out there who still believe. But with that team and mowbray in charge, im not even confident we are going to win half of our remaining games.

Nice to see some faithful through & through mentality.
It amuses me how some fans think it's the end of the world if we loose or draw a game.
We're in a 2 horse league, & it's unrealistic to expect Celtic to win the league every year.
Wasn't so long ago we had to endure Rangers winning 9 in a row, bringing in big money star signings, being out of europe before Xmas & the club almost going bankrupt, with huge questions over its' very existence.

Mogga has started a job that should have been under way during Strachan's 3 in a row season, the squad was stale, there was a lot of deadwood needed to be gotten rid off, perhaps he's been too drastic with the number of changes, but the majority of players he's bringing in look like they will do a job for us for a good few seasons.

We still need a little bit of fine tuning in the summer, but at least this way, the new players have half a season to get to know each other & what it means to be a Celtic player, gives us a slight advantage for next pre-season.

Keep the faith, faithful through & through.

    'Alea iacta est'.
    - Julius Ceasar.

March 2008: Its a cold midweek night, we are out of both cups, 'that other team' are somehow still alive in Europe, ahead in the league, and to make matters worse Celtic are just about to drop more points at home to fall further behind. Close your eyes. Can you see it? Do you remember it? And the chants of 'Strachan, Strachan, get tae f*ck !' ringing around Celtic Park, over and over again. It made me cringe at the time. nay, it made me feel ill, sick to my stomach. If close my eyes I can vividly envisage the scene and hear the echoes and feel that same knot inside.

7 wins we would need. 7 wins, including 2 against the bluenoses & hope another team could do us a favour as well. The dreams of 3IAR seemed to be fading fast... and, well, the rest is now history.

The big difference between now and then was that at that point the manager and players had proven that they could cobble together a run. They had done so previously, so when the pressure was on, most of the squad knew it was not only possible but genuinely had the belief it could be done. Then there was the 3 reds. Besides WGS, there was a certain fiery Irishman cojoling, hollering and barking from the bench, and a 3rd having succombed to cancer, who had been close to the players and was clearly both an inspirational and motivational force to the whole of Timdom.

Now, these factors are missing, and can't be exactly replicated. However, there is one other important ingrediant missing nowadays, to replicate such a turnaround from so difficult a position. For as well as there being a settled side, Strachan needed to make only one important alteration - the teaming up of Robson & Hartley in the centre.

By way of contrast, under TM we've been unable to sustain any prolonged period where a run looks possible. It looked briefly that way in December, when the team had a more settled appearance to it, and then the January revolution began. january is normally a time to do minor surgery, not wholesale changes. So arrived a staggering number of January signings. Now we are going to see this chopping and changing continue in a first 11 that could contain as many as 4 loan signings. One of the few bright spots this season has been the partnership between N'Guermo & Crosas, yet when N'Guermo returned from international duty he starts the merry-go-round again. When will the next time these 2 get another chance to link up is anyone's guess.

I want every Celtic manager to be successful, just as I'd like every signing to be a hit as well, though the reality is this is never going to be the case. I want TM to be succcessful, I really do, yet he has offered little to suggest to me he is the right man. There are questions. More and more questions are appearing, yet fewer and fewer answers are being offered by the management.

Mowbray has made a rod for his own back. His vision of beautiful football has een that of an idealist. He needs to lace idealism on a body of realism. Yet, much like Caesar, when he crossed the Rubicon in defiance of the senate and over 300 years of tradition, TM has made his move. His die is cast. The fortunes of our season were his to gamble. We must keep the faith and see the season out. It doesn't look too promising just now, but if TM can pull off one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the Scottish game, what a party it will be.

    Believe.

as much as i admire your optimism and i hope to * you're proved right,3iar was acheived in extraordinary circumstances and a number of factors that went our way, wether by accident or design.one of the major factors i feel was "broony"s enforced abscence from the team that co incided with our best run of form that season, whenever he's had a sustained run in the team we always seem to trail the orcs, now moggas announced he is captain for the remainder of this campaign i fear the worst.the board have to take responsibility for our current plight though, spending big last january from a position of strength would have buried the orcs instead of panic buys while 10 points behind a mediocre anti football team

Love the start to this thread. With belief and passion anything can be achieved, its a sad day when Celtic fans are on Celtics' forum saying Rangers have already won the league, granted realism needs to kick in but if we continue to fully believe in our new squad anything can be achieved. We now have match winners up front, and with Maloney and Brown's returns imminent this could be the beginning of the greatest come back we've seen for years! Lets get behind 'em and show the filth it's nowhere near over. C'mon the Hoops!
