Didn't we buy him for £1.5? Not much profit considering wages and that I suppose.

I am somewhat at a loss for words on this one... One thing our team had been crying out for, during the last few seasons of WGS reign was a LB. TM comes in, gets Fox, who demonstrated better form than Naylor had over the past 2 seasons. Maybe TM has seen Naylor lift his game substantially, that warrented the sale of the 1st choice LB.

Hopefully Mogga has seen some significant improvement in Naylor on the training pitch, because I, for one, haven't as yet see evidence of this in the matches he has featured in, and additionally, neither Caddis nor O'Dea should be considered anything like 1st choice... Indeed, I'd rate Wilson being the 1st choice backup for both FB roles, ahead of these 2.

A reported profit of £300 000 on what we paid Coventry for Fox isn't exactly a huge sum... What quality can be bought with this marginal profit, this is what I would like to know.

Edit - Before anyone remaorks on it, yes, I see the irony... starting with 'Im lost for words', then proceeding to write a number of paragraphs... :)

Fox was a very average player and i also think Naylors time at the club is coming to an end shortly too. Replacements will be brought in.

I will tell you why he was sold, to balance the books. Simple as because there is no sense in selling one of our first eleven for a profit of £300,000.

I don't understand all the pish about how Mowbray is trying it get rid of all the Scottish players.

Caldwell-Wanted too big of a new contract so we cashed in when we could.
McManus- Pish player and everyone knows it.
Fox- England born and raised and only qualifies for Scotland through Grandparents.
Robson- Aging player again who we cashed in on

And we still have, Maloney, Broon, Caddis, Wilson and McGeady is more Scottish then Fox. Also there are a good amount of young Scottish talents in our youth team that will hopefully progress to the first team.

And if Mowbray is trying to build our team into Internazionale Celtic..well it's worked for them.

the books dont need balanced. he was sold because he never lived up to expectations and we could lose money if he was sold later on.

I'm in shock. We need a LB, and Mowbray sold the main choice. He has Naylor and O'Dea now. * help us.

I cant believe Fox has gone already! I dont agree with most of the opinions on here that he was a "fud".

He is one of Tony's own signings, that worrys me abit! I hope we at least made a profit on him!

Is it too optimistic to hope that Mobray sees enough in Misun to make him an important part of the defence when he recovers from his injury? He has spoken of him (along with Thompson and Rogne) as forming part of Celtic's future back four.

Fox was a TM signing but never lived up to anything near his reported ability. Dead ball specialist...aye right. Specialist at getting caught out at the back more like.

Seems a strange one to me.
Whilst he hasn't been a star for us, he's hardly been a disaster either, & for a profit of only £300,000, it's a strange piece of business.

I think there might be more to this than meets the eye, I've heard rumours that he liked a bevy & night out on the town, but surely he couldn't have been any worse than Riordan was.

That's very true, but at the same time Caddis with Naylor/Wilson as backup should be enough to help us sneak into that much sought after second place...

Major whispers going around that we have agreed a fee with hearts for wallace. That could be why they have sacked Laszlo, maybe he did not want him sold and Romanov has thought of the money again
