    Also, Samaras should stay.

Aye, maybe so - but the question isn't about Skippy or Fortune, and to say Sammy has been our most consistent striker this season means fack all really, because they've all been rank for the most part. I wasn't saying, "get rid of him". He should stay, but coaches and himself have to sort out his short-comings, because he has the ability to be amazing.

Whether Samaras is good enough to stay is a question inherently linked with the other strikers. People are criticising Samaras for being inconsistent yet the other two are less consistent - where are their criticism?

I don't think they've all been rotten - it's the team as a whole that's been inconsistent and no thanks to the manager for chopping and changing every 5 minutes. Our strikers and wingers have been our biggest success this season, it's a shame the CM's and back 5 haven't managed to keep the same level of performance.

To me this thread is scapegoating Samaras when he is one of the few who's had a good season so far. Totally absurd to me.

Perhaps on a chance per chance ratio then you have a point although I guess there are no stats to back that up.

I personally would much rather Samaras on the park than McDonald given a choice. Both are essential to the squad though.

When Samaras plays well, he's one of our best players. He's probably got a problem with confidence which doesnt help when you've got thousands of people shouting at him from the first minute (people who are ment to be supporting him). I say keep him.

I think one of the main reasons for the baiting of Sammy is because he's been the one on the end of most chances that haven't been put away, important chances at that, he's the guy that everybody can see can be fantastic. He's just really frustrating in that sense and that's why fans are getting on his back. He's also played more games than the other two this season I think so he's probably been our main striker this season.

i think he's useful as a 3rd striker. plays nicely on all but finishing, and can play a nice pass when needed.

Somebody posted stats from Sky Sports that had McDonald with more starts, the same total appearances but with less goals and assists. I am basing a lot of my assumptions on that.

I get what you mean though with the chances he's missed. Some seem incredibly easy as well like the Hearts "open net" and Wednesdays header, but I think he gets a bit unlucky with many of these. Sometimes they can be more difficult than people give him credit for. Mind, on the flipside he scores goals from positions he shouldn't be scoring - the first versus Falkirk off the top of my head?

I can see why he frustrates fans but it seems sometimes it's simply his appearance that enrages a lot of people. "Lanky Greek waste of space", "greek lesbian!!", etc etc. Some shocking abuse he gets when that stats say he's our best striker, but not only the stats - he's had some tremendous performances this season to go with the dire ones - but what strikers don't have stinkers? McDonald and Fortune have had a few as well.

I hear what you're saying mate, but do you really think a player who trains every day on finishing should be missing these chances? The swipe he took at a cutback against Hibs on Wednesday - he's done this too often. Some of the abuse has been horrendous, and I'll hold my hands up and say I've given it too. But this isn't because I hate him or want him out. As I've said, it's because he frustrates me. He's had some really bad games, but when you see him have one one week and play incredibly the next I want to thump his skull. Why can't he find consistency? I believe it's his mentality. Until he sorts that out he'll be the same player at the same level for the rest of his career. I just wish he could pull performances like his last one against the huns out of the bag every week. You could forgive him for having the odd bad game if that was the case.

The next game against Hamilton, count how many goo things he does ie winning the ball, great pass threw, tracking back winning the ball ball etc. I guarantee you he does alot more than anyone else in the team.

Fair enough he makes a few mistakes, but the good out weight the bad.

Samaras has the worst first touch I've ever seen and as for the end product, it does'nt exsist. He came here promising goals goals goals, what a joke! He works hard but without the end product, for a striker that means nothin.

i like him but he is a little bit inconsistant lol

he should be benched this weekend though with the new guy given the role with fortune also samaras is not a bad impact player as he has lots of energy and ability just what you need against tired defences.

samaras should be melted down and make a pair of wellies out of him.have always said he's *.most frustrating player i've seen in a hoops shirt.puts effort in alrite, runs around like a spare * on acid and then throws his arms in the air when he does something stupid!i'd say get rid of him but who in there right mind would take him??

mr strachan would you be looking for a long haired greasy lesbian by any chance??
