Fox is a good player! give him the rest of the season at least.. all we've got to replace him is: the most inconsistent player EVER, A piece of crap and an 18 year old,, Naylor, O'Dea and Misun, KEEP HIM.

He's really *, I'd love to get him moved on quickly - as it shows Mowbray is not to be messed with too.

His covering is terrible & his distribution actually isn't all that good either.

It's all a bit smoke & mirrors to noise us and the opposition up if you ask me, whilst we sneak a Centre Back in through the back door.

I would be perfectly happy to see Fox stay, don't think the criticism he gets on here is very justified. He's quite solid in my view, obviously by no means the finished article but an absolutely massive improvement on Naylor. If he was to be replaced with Wallace I would see that as good business, but wouldn't be upset to see him stay. Big, relatively quick and solid enough and young enough to be a prospect for improvement. Onwards and upwards if he stays or not!

Wow, pretty disappointed with some of the comments in this thread. The guy has been here for 6 months, been injured for some of that time, and some of the abuse directed at him is completly unjustified.

As for the guy who called O'Dea "a piece of crap"....have a * word with yourself.

Give the guy a break, he's only been here 6 months and has had an injury.
He's not settled yet, he'll come good. Hope we keep him.

hope he stays we aint seen all he has to offer yet dont see the point in giving him 6 months also mowbray himself described the player as "quality" i wonder if this is the board trying to offset the outlay for rasmussen 2m in 2m out sort of thing!!

I don't really know what to make of this?? Good left backs are hard to come by, i think fox has done okay, not great just okay, with the potential to get better with more games.

:31:Tony saying fee of 1.8million and he is happy for him to go ,well tony * get tae * your self you clown , :31:

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray has admitted that he has sanctioned the £1.8million sale of left-back Danny Fox to Burnley, even though he signed the 23-year-old from Coventry City just six months ago and considers him an automatic pick for his starting XI.

Assuming the player agrees to the switch, Celtic should make a profit of around £300,000 and Mowbray implied that he will use the fee to strengthen other departments of his team.

As revealed in these pages yesterday, while Fox is pondering a move to the top flight down south club captain Stephen McManus is weighing up the possibility of a reunion with former manager Gordon Strachan at Middlesbrough.

“There is an opportunity there for Danny Fox to move to the English Premier League,” said Mowbray.

“I’ve had a good chat with him. We identified him early here and brought him to Glasgow but my job is to put a whole team and squad together over a period of time.

“To do that, I need to be flexible and prioritise where I can spend money: if that means making some tough decisions on my first choice left-back then I will make them.

“I’ve got to see which area of the team needs strengthening most. If I need to spend a few more quid in a certain area then I need to create funds.

“Danny Fox is a coveted player. He is a good footballer and we have a good working relationship here.

“An opportunity arose and it is something he wants to explore. We are allowing that to happen but, if anything happens and he comes back fit, then he will still be first-choice left-back.

“It’s not right that I tell you precisely my discussions with Danny but it was me who put an offer to him. I know Brian Laws very well as I played with him.

“He’s trying to put a team together at Burnley and he made an inquiry. It’s potentially an opportunity for me to wheel and deal a little bit.

“I wouldn’t need another left-back if he went unless I thought the value was right and he could come in and play the position for the next three or four years. If not, O’Dea, Caddis, Wilson and Naylor can play there for us.”

    O'dea is a * centre back you * , Wilson is a * right back , Caddis is * centre mid , and Naylor is * useless get tae * .:31:

Fox is an average player. I wouldnt be against him moving on if we were getting cover in.
