Petrov is a valuable player for Celtic, but in a comparison to Nakamura, I am in agreement with you kyndig, Petrov never was nor never will be a Lubo type player, Nakamura most certainly is, and I include Roy Keane in that category! :86:

Further to press speculation today, a Celtic spokesperson commented: "We have received no official transfer request from Stilian Petrov, who has recently signed a new long-term contract with the Club, but clearly, any such request would be rejected."

    From Celtic's website.

This thread has forty odd replies and yet the thread with the offical denial from Celtic is still in single figures. There is a message there somewhere.

well they say actions speak louder than words and 'stan the man' walking off the pitch straight after the game is pretty loud and clear that something wasnt right....

imo the papers are just trying to make a story after us winning the league. however if petrov was to go we would make alot of money from him and lawson would get his chance. id rather petrov stayed though

Cause i said naka is a better player than petrov, which is true. Away you go, id rather see naka in the centre than petrov, petrov creates nothing nowdays. Hes turning into lennon.

Sorry Kyndig i can't agree. I think Naka is great, with a huge potential. However i think Petrov has proved himself at this club, season after season. It is my opinion that we would miss Petrov a lot more than we would miss Nakamura.

You are wasting your time kyndig. Until the journalists in the daily rags realise how good Naka is many of the masses won't either, as their opinions are formed by what they read.

dont u see this is what the daily rag wants. us to be all focussed on the petrov 'issue' (where as far as i can see there isnt one) and the build up to the old firm game where the teams are separated by the biggest margin of points since, well ages can take a back seat. they do it all the time, was it not bbjs family problems we were informed of before one of the home games last year?

also stan petrov has been mostly consistently a great player for 7 years or somethin, naka has been here less than a full season, you cannot compare the two.

    * off, mongol *, get a clue about how football is supposed to be played, sure petrovs good, but hes not a class act like naka, some of his passing is a total joke. Petrovs a defensive midfielder now.

So you all saying if ronaldinho was at celtic just a year, petrov would be better? retarded * *

While i reckon this is partially bullshit that he has actually handed in a request....I reckon he does wanna leave, something between him and Strachan isn't right......Sunday spoke volumes to me......

And if someone did come in with a £6 million bid for him (which they won't) , i'd bite the * hand off them :86:

6 million in the old war chest would do nicely in the transfer window!
