No Scots in starting X1?

I know they never started, but they came on, that being: Paul Caddis & Paul McGowan, they are both Scottish & Caddis played about 70mins of the game when Loovens came off injuried, so there was Scots on the park in the end..

We also Have Fox. Although he is english he plays for Scotland. They dont complain about that because it benefits their NT.

I am not against any national team, but it really is not Aidens fault that he was not called into the National team and then got the call from Ireland.

Even though we had not scots in the start we still play with a lot of UK/ireland players.

I hate the way they ridicule us for this. It was different when it was the Huns. They only play scots players because they cannot afford anyone else

We can get better talent for a better price outside this country , i think it's great we are doing that!

 

I always like to see our Scots at Celtic but if they're not gOOd enough or out injured there's not alot we can do.
There really is only a coupe of Scots out there at the moment worth having. McFadden, McCormack or D Fletcher.
So very few individual stars at the moment. Our main strength in the Scotia team is our unity.

Paul McGowan and Paul Caddis both played today.

There's just no one gOOd enough in Scotland at the moment. Would love to see McFadden but I don't think he wants to be part of the O** F*** thang.

Potentialy we have six Scots who could start. McManus, Caddis, Maloney, Brown, McGeady (Plays for Ireland but is Scottish, just coz he chose to play for Eire doesn't mean we should feel guilty about playing him), McGowan. That's not tOO bad if you ask me.

Last seasons stat was 16% of the Premiership was English and 60% of the SPL Scots.

We need a big change. Levein is a big fan of youngsters so hopefully his work will help produce more. Think the SFA and the other bodies need a personel change.

 

never heard that * jim white mention anything a couple of years ago when we had more british players playing in champions league for us than the 4 english teams put together.

The Media are jsut twisted buggers. They will probably say Danny Fox, the Englishman, even though he has been capped by Scotland. But make a fuss because McGeady is irish capped, therefore doesnt count as a scot. * Muppets

Who cares. And * SSports. The only time the say something about Scottish teams is when they have done something wrong or scored a goal. Never watched a Sports channel that fancies the Premier League so much.

 

I heard Uefa have plans in the works to clamp down on the number of foregin you can have in yourside. Much like the current needing to have cetain number of players how are under 21 in your team.

I think I might improve the national team, if more homegrown players were given first team football, but this view does not seem to be shared on what I have read so far on this thread.

 

That doesnt bother me in the slightest, once the team wins I wouldnt care if it was filled with Algerians!

 

Its not the be all & end all. To be fair, Scotland's national team isnt exactly glittering with talent and that's indicative of the best Scotland has to offer. How many of them are better than what we already have? Few, if any. Furthermore, would having additional Scottish players make Celtic a better team? I doubt it.
