I personally think Paddy is brilliant, literally, and he is a FAR better player than Aidan. He is the real thing, a player who has a brain, knows when to pass, sees the pass, actually seems to always have end product on his mazy runs and has a great shot. He must have a great goals per minute of gametime ratio too. If he ever got fit enough I would play him ahead of McGeady every time. If he doesnt then we and he should just be happy that the club has an incredible supersub who can give a great half an hour every time he is called on. hail hail Paddy Mcourt

I'm with ya there. I hope to * we sort out whatever it is that stops him from playing 90. Of course we see Aidan more often, but I find Paddy far more direct and therefore exciting.

Great player to have in the squad and if hes content being a supersub, then great.

our most talented winger by far. probably one of our most skilled players on our team. if he can improve some parts of his game and fitness, then our number 20 could have a brilliant celtic career.

I would only start paddy against weak teams and bring him on as an impact sub in harder games like rangers ands hibs n dundee united.I think he's a genius but until he gets betta defensively I'd keep him as a sub...wat a goal at against st johnstone tho...

He has a knack of going around defenders without them getting a challenge in ,has anyone else noticed this.

I'm with ya mate. Nothing more exciting then Paddy making defenders look like helpless statues. Easily the most exciting player on the team and the leader of my Exciting Irish Trio (McCourt, McGeady and McGinn.)

    * i can't believe what i am reading from some people. Paddy is nothing more than an inpact sub that is handy to come on when we need a goal. The reality is if he can't play 90 mins by now then he never will so therefore doesn't deserve to start. I remember him starting a league game at CP this year (think it was against St Mirren but may be wrong) and he done absolutely nothing which made me think he's only really good as an impact sub, a bit like McGinn in that sense.

Away from home if we played one up front with McCourt behind he could be free to roam with no defensive duties and we could still have McGinn and McGeady wide. Not saying every week but for selected games it could work.

Yep mate, he has such a weird, yet effective dribbling technique. He goes past players like they aren't even there and most importantly, he has a fantastic end product.

He started against Kilmarnock last October & we were great that day & won 3:0.
Admittedly he was subbed after about an hour.

It's one of the most striking things about his play, McGeady beats defenders but Paddy goes past them as if nobody was there, its really something to watch as the defenders might as well be cardboard cut outs.

He has fitness issues but he's a special player. It sounds silly but he plays football in a really romantic old fashioned manner. I defy anyone to watch him ghosting past defenders without getting to their feet.

paddy is a footballer they put in a time machine in the '70s and sent to here. unfortunately the guys in the '70s were not as fit as the ones today. Paddy also plays a very physically demanding position on the wing where he called to sprint half the length of the pitch (or more) for an hour and a half.

If he can sort his fitness, he can be one of those special rare late bloomers in football like Robson was in his respective CM position (hopefully with a few more years in him though)

The way he runs with that reactive dribbling (dribbling that reacts to what other guys feet are doing) really reminds me of what footage of George Best I have seen. I think Best is his hero and he models himself on him.

I'd have in on from the start. He's sheer class.
