    Racing Santander starlet Sergio Canales has agreed to join Real Madrid at the end of the season, according to his agent.

    Canales, 18, has made a major impact for his club in recent weeks and, with his contract set to expire in the summer, he has been linked with a number of top European clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City.

    However, Madrid were always considered favourites to sign Canales and the playmaker's father and agent has now said he is set to move to the Bernabeu.
    "The decision was Sergio's and he thinks that Real offer the best option in a sporting sense," Angel Canales said.
    Reports suggest Canales has agreed a five-year contract and that Racing could receive 6 million euros in compensation.

    bad move from the young lad. he will sit and rot at Real. i hope i am wrong. i was in spain last week and his dad, who is also his agent, i think, was saying that from his point of view he should stay with racing until the end of next season at least. florentinos millions must have convinced him

    Stupid move imo, could go down the path of several youngsters who joined Real only to see their career stall and then get loaned around the league.
