Basically Chris Killen talking about Mowbray's decision to say he needed 10 new players, and how it affected the current squad.

AFP: Celtic manager Mowbray upset players: Killen

Sounds like he was wrong to say it, even though we all know it is what he has to do it anyway.

Bit of a non-story imo, but I thought it might interest one or two posters.

Is this just a bitter parting shot or is he right to question Mowbray?

Killen questions Tony Mowbray's management? That's a laugh.

I question Chris Killen's ability, the guy was mince. Away and suck on your sour grapes Killen.

hes just * because he thought Mogga would give him more of a chance especially with Killen played under him at Hibs. I say this because Killen is a professional footballer and would know not to talk about "behind the scenes" at a football club.....tbh this is probably the last time he will be near CP.

Too slow and not enough determination to excell and break into the 1st team....

Could be argued he's right and could be argued he is firing in some bitterness.

Personally i think he is wrong, what mogga did was fire a warning shot and those who took heed are the ones who have/will survive in this club/team.

Killen was a bit part player under WGS aswel lest not forget and did nothing to force a place in moggas team also so that speaks for itself IMO.

I think Killen is right, TM phrased it badly when he said he was looking to bring in ten new players.

He should have said "I'm looking to ditch the dead wood - like that useless big tool Killen." :50:

    A non-story now.

Mowbray has learned not to be so honest with the media. Now he needs to question referee's decisions a bit quicker e.g. in the post-match interview.

    A learning curve.

As for Killen, he was lucky to get the contract, got paid well, showed next to nothing, and has nothing to complain about. Simply not good enough.

Probably right hand he probably could have said it better. :56: The point is he gave everyone fair warning and only a select few took notice, not killens fault he's gash he should be more concerned about getting a game with his new club.

I bet he will always be a bit part player though.

Look at the players who have responded to what Mowbray said at the start of the season

Every position is up for grabs, nobody is a dead cert

Since then Crosas has been great, McGeady has been very consistent, Samaras grabbed the bull by the horns, Hinkel has been his usual conistent self, N'Guemo had a dip but improved ince hi kick up the backside

Killen thought he was in with a shout then drifted off, McDonald reverted back to the wee at moaner that he is when he dopesn't get his own way, Caldwell's head exploded after Mowbray gve him the armband, Glen Loovens has a nosebleed efverytime he sees the ball.

Borucx went to Burger King for comfort food after Zaluska played well.

Some players probably weren't happy, but talking about it now suggests bitterness by Killen and just getting in a parting shot.

I think when TM said that, he did get a positive response from some players.

I think Crosas and Samaras especially reacted well and dare I say Scott Mcdonald is starting to work a bit harder when off the ball becuase he knows he's not a certainty anymore.

Strange thing is he was on loan at Norwich and flopped, so what will he bring to Boro?

Anyway, I think as a few have pointed out Mowbray is justified in what he did. A few reacted well (Samaras, N'Guemo, Crosas etc). Some didn't do enough and now they are gone.

Sadly our CBs didn't improve and Fox hit a dip in form, but Robson, McGeady, N'Guemo, Crosas, Samaras and Fortune seemed to take it well.

Killen's clearly a bitter man but he has a point.

What was the point in BTM talking down a squad so much that he is going to have to rely on to prevent the huns completing 2 in a row? :87:

I could understand making a statement at the end of a season before a massive root and branch clear out but this window will never be that.

Is the squad he has derided going to react to BTM if results don't pick up in the next few weeks? I hope so

NL the results have been picking up for weeks,we have all seen an improvement with in the team and a clear direction on where we are going it's the conversion rate of our attackers that's the problem and that's down to poor judgement and luck.

IMO the players who want to play for Celtic are in the squad, they took notice of TM's words and bucked up (to an extent) he maybe could have been more tactful but i believe he did ok.

Thats the way I see it too, I think he got to see who really wanted to play for the hoops and who was nowhere near deserving too.
