Probably Yos with a Y not a J or similar. J is always pronounded Y in Dutch I think. Valgaeran was really also Yos or something like that.

Is it true that Hooiveld was on trial at Livingston in 2005, played a bounce game against St Johnstone and failed to impress

Still not happy. One new CB in but our best CB out. That is not a great result IMO.

Actually agree with you mate, id have preferred to hold onto Caldwell till the end of the season. Will be interesting to see if bring in another CB or if this guy will partner Loovens.

I think it was reported at £1.5 Mil, or 18 Mil Swedish Crowns.

He's got the winning habit at AIK, he won the award for the best defender in Finland for two seasons before moving to AIK, so in my mind it says he's a consistent performer in defence, unlike Caldwell and Mc Manus.

He must be good in the air and strong because Holland has the tallest population in Europe and Swedes are big and strong too. I remember the Swedish international team v Scotland and our big guys around 6ft, 6ft 1 etc could not handle then because their average height was around that and their big guys were 6ft 5. Not saying you have to be that tall but you need to be bigger than normal and a good jumper to cope in the land of giants.

£1.5 million, let's hope he's going to get a decent partner in defence. He's played in Austria, Finland and Sweden as well as his homeland, he appears to have a good winning mentality judging by the awards he has won personally and also with his last club AIK.

It's a pity he'll just have to settle for the league and cup double this season, however it gives him a goal for next year, good luck at Celtic bigman.
