    Hi guys.

My first time in this forum - or any for that matter.

Whilst we have just won the league in convincing fashion I must admit to a feeling of emptiness and I am still not sold on Strachan.

There is little opportunity to watch the hoops live in Canberra, Australia - the Europe and the Scottish Cup semis anf final being the exceptions.

Being the first team to qualify for next years Champs League is some consolation.

I just don't think we would have lost to Artmedia and Clyde under O'Neill.

Maybe I am still dirty on Strachan for his getting Roy Aitken sent of in the Cup Final all those years ago.

He can redeem himself next season with a decent run in Europe.

Why would anyone not be sold on Strachan? We're about to win the league by the biggest margin ever and are playin some of the best football since Tommy Burns was in charge.

Celtic were always gonna struggle at the start of this season due to the changes taken place at Celtic Park in the summer.

Wee Gordon has us playing well and winning trophies so enjoy it!

He has changed the way we play ,the patient build up springs to mind ,i think GS has done a great job inheriting the post of MON ,some people dont like change but i feel we have improved under GS and next year will be the big test .I hope he keeps it up ..

I am happy with Gordon Strachan, but next season is going to be a biggy, and more challenging I feel for him and Celtic! :86:

MON bailed out on Celtic ..he knew his team were past it and he wouldnt get any decent money to sort it out.

Strachan has had peanuts to spend and the Artmedia result was a freak. Result of old legs, new faces not gelling.

Strachan deserves every credit for this year as he has done what he has done ona fraction on what MON had.

Can't agree with the above at all. Considering all the comings and goings both player wise and coaching wise to have won a double in his first season and in such emphatic fashion is absolutely a stunning achievement as far as I am concerned. Sure there was Bratislava and Clyde but as much as I love O'Neill he had his own Inverness when they were a first division team. Will Gordon Strachan go on to become an icon and Celtic legend like Martin O'Neill well we will just have to see. To do that he will need to achieve in Europe. But for now well done Gordon Strachan what you have done in your first season is a fantastic achievement. I also like the noises he is making already about building for next season.

As said by others, GS had a huge task this season and despite the CL & SC disasters. The Celtic style is positive, attctive, inventive football much like, dare I say, Jock Stein's vision of football. GS still doesn't have the players he needs at his disposal for this style yet but I felt all season that this summer, he'll go along way to doing it.

Maybe im being overly positive but our future is very bright and alot of credit must go to GS.

cant agree with th thread starter...at the begining of the season everyone hear was saying that this was going to be a rebuilding season, but look at us now. we've won the league in the first week of april! i think wgs has done more than proved himself.

This is a rebuilding phase, we fell short in other competitions, that why we did well in the league

He certainly has changed the way we play and I must say there are some around me who prefer what we lost and that's a fair point. We all like different games. So it's a bit of a mixed bag really. But, as for me I'm happy so long as we keep winning.

i totaly agree. i was a doubter as well but we have won the league at an absolute canter its a bit unfair to compare him with MON. i think strachans team would beat o'neils last side. i think we are at the start of something special now. the big test will come when we hit a bad patch the people who have changed their mind on strachan myself included must not over criticse him/the team during the bad times but if we all get right behind them there won't be to many of these we cant allow an eck situation to develope where the manager is 2 games from the sack.

i agree with the CL league point but i don't buy into the leguen hype he inherited a good side at lyon he's not getting that at ibrox. and celtic played his lyon team off the park at celtic park and where 1 error away from knocking them out of the competition.

i fully expect strachan to pull leguens pants down next year and exposse him for what he really is * mk II hearts will be our biggest domestic rivals again next season maybe with 1 man in charge for the full season they can finish a bit closer to us

thats true, but no one thought we would win the league this year either. and no one thought we would be ahead of the huns by 23 points.

I cannae believe u said that O'Neill bailed out on us. His wife is ill and nobody knows whats wrong wi her. If I was in his position I'd do the same

I agree. Le Guen was good at Lyon but look at the players he had( Juninho) etc. Somehow I dinnae hink that he can dae the same wi * like Barry Ferguson and Hemdani.

Its hard to judge how good a job strachan is doing cos the competition is so awful! I wouldnt say the football we are playing is great. It is against teams like dunfermline and livi, but when we're playing against teams that close us down and dont give us time then our game breaks down and its hideous to watch
