I hate all these excuses about Strachan left him *.... do you actually think our players are worse than Falkirk & Hearts players?

That's wrong. On all counts. Irrespective of what happened in the previous 3 seasons, Celtic players and management team threw 4 in a row away. That matters. Period.

Are Man Uniteds players worse than Leeds? Should Ferguson be sacked for being a * manager?

You keep bringing up the 2 Hearts games and the Falkirk game and holding that up as some sort of summary of Mowbray's management so far. What about Moscow when we put on a European away masterclass and broke the duck neither O'Neill or Strachan could? What about the performances against Kilmarnock, Aberdeen or Falkirk in the cup?

The general consensus over the peace is there is signs we are getting ourselves in order and we must start doing better, not that Mowbray and his side are useless because Hearts beat us twice.

Barnes had far more talented players to work with than Tony Mowbray has. Also, John Barnes has failed at every single managers job he has had. Tony Mowbray has succeeded in both his previous managerial jobs.

If the point this thread is trying to make is that we'd be better off with Barnes than Mowbray then that is complete and utter bullshit of the highest order. Anyone that thinks that wants their head cut off and filled up with something resembling brains before having it sewn back on again.

Since when does being practically relegated by Xmas and out-smarted by Tony Pulis, Phil Brown etc... count as success?

Now he's here BTM deserves time and money to build his own team, but i havent changed my mind that his CV before coming here was never celtic class.

West Brom were only relegated in the last few weeks of the season...not at Christmas. Even so, they were in the Championship when he took them over and that's where they were when he left so he never left them worse off than they were when he took over. He also won the Championship in his time there as well as taking West Brom to their first FA Cup semi-final in * knows how many years. His work at Hibs speaks for itself.

Both Mowbray's previous clubs had good times and good football under his management and both clubs were in a better state, or at worst as good a state, when he left than they were when he arrived.

oh please not this old chestnut again? i think anyone who actually thinks Barnes is a better manager for us than Mowbray needs their head checked! bear in mind Barnes managed to take a far more expensive group of players to the pits of despair v ICT, he was able to * 6 million on the well named Scheit which is a luxury Mogga does not have!

granted Mogga's rather stubborn approach at West Brom did get them relegated but to comapre that job to the Celtic job is not possible, he knows the pressure that comes with managing our great club, he's not an idiot; if some fans would just have a little * patience rather than demanding success NOW NOW NOW!! and i fully believe that Mogga, given time will proove himself a good celtic manager

so enough with this John Barnes nonsense already!!

We've been the better team in nearly every SPL game this season, some of them by a long way, but our defenders and strikers have let the manager down. Defenders that can't defend and strikers that can't score. What's Mowbray meant to do?

im not calling for TM's head yet, but to say Barnes had it easier with the players he had is rubbish, the opposition teams back then were also 5x better than todays teams, and Rangers pos had close to their greatest team ever, you definately couldnt say that about the current crop of opposition players. Man for man Celtic were the 2nd best team back then, compared to today they are by far the best man for man team in the league.

The performance we put on in Moscow to knock them out was a display of EXACTLY how to play European football, something neither Strachan nor O'Neill managed to master over numerous seasons and several campaigns. If you refuse to acknowledge that then that's your perogative but I'd suggest your wee hate campaign against Mowbray has a lot more to do with it than the fact you think it wasn't a good performance :50:

Time for the huns to win 2IAR ?

Its going to happen unless he starts putting fire in their bellys and motivating them to win, Playing good and nothing happening just isnt good enough its like watching Tommy Burns's team all over again to be honest.

January's the pivotal moment for this season. If he strengthens sensibly we will win the league.

Shore up at the back a bit and get somebody in to bury the goals. Im confident he will.

It crazy how much * WGS gets for that. WGS had a perfect SPL title record that only faltered on the last day of a 4 year reign. Noone since Stein has even come near coming within 90 mins of 4 in a row. Fans who did not appreciate what the wee man did for us need their heads examined. You never hear too much similar grumbling to MON only getting 2 in a row and blowing 2 titles on the last day in his last 3 seasons.

I can see what he is doing but I think Mogga is on a race against time to transform the team to his way without blowing the league. He was very unlucky not to get a win v Rangers though and that could be crucial. I think the OF games will be stalemates so we need to win every game and wait for the inevitable couple of slipups that will happen to Rangers. Not sure if the club will tolerate failure and Rangers 2 in a row. If they get that it will be strange seeing as we have been by far the better side this and last season. In fact the reality is the one season they deserved to win it was our 3 in a row.

I think if we strengthen the team properly this month we should be expecting 6 points out of the Old Firm matches.

I geniunely feel this team is a couple of good signings away from being a class team.
