have u seen a handsome hun

not getting the rub of the green......i said that for nine long years when the huns had us under their boot.
and when we were doing three in a row the huns were constantly saying they werent getting the breaks.
ye make yer own luck.....and that starts by buying players who walk straight into the first team.....we have become a club happy to add average players to maintain a squad living on past glories.

your just talking pure utter * now pal, the difference is your 2 year old niece isnt a pro footballer, young and learning by this i was meaning he hasnt played in a top division for a club like ours, he has also just moved to a new country he is learning his trade but it doesnt help when you play for a big club like ours and when things dont go right, bad cross etc etc

have you heard the groans in the stand at celtic park recently, ov course he,s still learning, you have to learn to get better he,s only 23 ffs henrik was still learning at 26

Still stand by what I say! You are right you make your own luck! I still think we have not had our share this season. But by the end of the season it should all balance out!

I hate fans like you. Have some patience for * sake.

Mowbray was very successful at Hibs and WBA, but they didn't both become good sides after a few months. It took time. At WBA he only kept about 3 players out of the 30+ squad he inherited. WBA went on and stormed the Championship after that.

    Have some faith.

Lets bring that team up to date.

Strachan left Mowbray a team that had won the League Cup last season.

A team that struggled in Europe.

A strike force that did'nt speak to each other.

mowbray inherited a team that lost the league to a poor rangers side and in doing so blew 2 7 point leads. and last season they came last in the group in europe. also lost arguably the best passer we had who could also score the odd free kick

I am warming to Mowbray but he shouldnt even be mentioned in the breath as Strachan who clearly had the golden touch of winning without great players. Just because he faultered in the run in in the last few weeks of his reign in the run in doesnt remove the fact that he had the knack above any other Celtic manager in my lifetime of getting cheap average players punching way above their ability in the CL and cleaning up in the SPL. It will be 3 or 4 years of major SPL and CL success before Mowbray earns the right of comparison with WGS. Right now the comparison shouldnt be made.

That said, I have some regard for what Mogga is trying to do. I can see what he is doing. The only doubt about Mogga that still remains is is he a style manager or is he a winner.

It is not important that they blew 4 in a row in the last couple of games of the season or disspointed in the CL. No other Celtic manager can say in his last season he blew securing a 4th CL qualification in a row, blew getting to a 3rd last 16s in a row and with a game to go blew getting the 4 SPLs in a row. Failures but failures to break his own post-Stein records is not really failure.

OK am with TM because of what he inherited as a team the good the bad and so on!TM deserves this transfer window to bring in his type of player and for his sake i hope these are major impact players we have had enough of the squad player syndrome from G Strachan's era...that's if the board are backing the manager with good money and he gets his choices of player right he needs to get this bang on and as i said TM deserves this transfer window to put his stamp on the team then we can judge him in the later part of the season to see if hes merited his position as Celtic manager Yes its all about results and its not been great at all but we can catch up on the points providing we win our game in hand and that pushes us on..were still in it to win it!!

The only thing i worry about is our lack of results in big games so far this season, The UEFA Cup was an embarrisment, the league cup result and the 2 matches against the huns. Lets give him till the seasons end, and if he cant win the league against the worst huns team ever then we should cut him. But lets give him the next 5months to show what he can do.

I dont know what some fans are watching. Mowbray has been in the job for about 6 months he has only really brought in a couple of players one of which was out for 2 and half months arguably with two of our best players also out injured for 2 months. And imo think that the football that we are playing is far better than anything strachan or barnes produced. I have never rated Caldwell or Mcmanus as I prefered Bobo with a more commanding presence and if mowbray gets the time to install these type of defenders we will cruise this league for the coming years. I remeber going to games last season watching games when our first attempt on goal was past the 80th minute and that happened numerous times. We are celtic and with no disrespect to the spl over 90 mins I reckon we should be getting close to 20 attempts in every game I would love to compare the stats from the last couple of seasons for attempts on goal to what we are creating now I know we are missing alot of these chances but it is Mowbrays philosophy and coaching skills that are creating these chances.

stats like this mean absolutely nothing as you choose a certain time in the season in which to use them. so if we go on a run in the next 5-7 games that gives TM a better points tally than barnes, will you bring up the stats again.

i normally try to judge what i am watching before i use stats, and i have to say that we are starting to look like we are becoming a side.

we also can't look past some of the shocking mistakes our defence has made and some of the chances our strikers have been missing.

let's take the hearts game for example:

1: mcdonald misses a sitter, fortunately for us his header rebounded of the post and straight to samaras. this was a header he realler should've put away.

    2. lovens let's a ball run across him and caldwell makes a risky challenge in the box that gives away a penalty and of course, puts us down to 10 men.

    3. mcgeady hits the post from 25 yards.

    4. sammy then misses an open net to put us ahead.

this has been the story of the season so far.

i'll actually have to take it on the chin if we lose the league this year as i feel we'll be too strong for the huns next season under mowbray.

I agree, I just think Mowbray is getting a hard time from some fans the now when I feel he has taken us forward in such a short period of time. you mentioned stats dont come into it but thats how this thread started. All Im saying is what we are watching is far better than anything Barnes produced. Im convinced Mowbray will get it right given time and backing.

Barnes should not have even been in charge of the reserve side at Parkhead and has since proven his credentials elsewhere as a prize chump. Mowbray won one of the hardest leagues in the world and one of the richest, he has at least shown his capabilities.

I'm not fully convinced yet either but there are definite signs, even the most blinkered Mowbray nay-sayer can't deny, that we're starting to take shape. There is no comparison and barring a catastophe he will be here 'til the end of the season at the very, very least.

Remind me why our most successful manager since The Great One felt compelled to leave??? :54:

Without a shadow of a doubt, if WGS hadn't been forced out, we'd be walking this league and in with a shout of the last 32 of the uefa cup.

fans using the phrase "celtic-minded" has haunted me ever since to be honest :54:

we've got a lot of improving to do if we're gonna win the league..we lost the league last year because we did'n't buy quality in january transfer window, let's hope we don't make same mistake this transfer window..i'm not convinced about mowbray but he deserves time to make his mark!
