next year i'll be living in dublin for 6 months or so. how easy is it to get to parkhead on matchdays as ive heard of people taking planes or sometimes busloads of match supporters from belfast, what are the cheapest means to get over there and what are the usual price range for travel expenses for the weekend? thanks

I travel to about 20 games per season, we get flights from Dublin to either Edinburgh, Prestwick or Glasgow (depending on which is the cheapest), the chairman of the supporters club books all the flights for us, we just have to turn up with passport in hand :icon_mrgreen:

Usually costs between 70 euro and 180 euro depending on the game and time of year and how quickly we got the flights booked (I'd say the average is usually 120 euro).

We usually hire a bus to collect us at the airport and take us to the city and then picks us up again from the pub to take us back after the game.

I go to lot of games but always book my flights well in advance, sometimes unlucky if match changed but always go Friday till Sun night, so only once was match date changed and missed in all times I have travelled over... fly to Prestwick and never pay more than 60euro a flight... once got tickets to old firm for 2euro believe it or not. Always stay in either euro hostel if few of us to share a private room or Jurys on Jamaica Street.. both across road from each other, Jurys always full of celtic fans so good banter in bar etc and very central, 4 mins walk from central station.

Never travelled by coach... like my comfort! Ryanair comfort lol

I would recommend Ryainair every time Dublin to Glasgow for the best deals although Aer Lingus can sometimes can up with the goods.
    For Ryanair as an example Friday the 15th Jan it's €60.00 return,the 22nd it's €20.0 likewise the 29th'.
Also if your not too fussy Alexander Thomson hotel on Argyle St can be a great deal I'm coming over for the Hibs mid week game and got a 3 night stay for €102.00. As I say it's not fancy but it has clean rooms, bedlinen and spotless showers. It is adviseable to book it through Alpha rooms as going direct to the hotel the price seems to get bumped up, not by much but in my case i got one night free through using Alpha.
