McGeady Deal ,Threads Merged.

I was just reading the Record there bak page its talking about Aiden Mcgeady and how brum have been in talks with celtic for him and celtic have slapped 10 million pound price tag on him if birmingham or any other team were to meet this do you think its fair would you take it ?

Personally i like Mcgeady would hold on to him for as long as we can but if we were to sell him i'd use the money to bid for aaron lennon from tottenham or Pavlyuchenko or Kenwyn jones most people will say why not sign a defender but its simply i,m swapping attacking player for an attacking player

Kenwyn Jones plays for sunderland them or celtic ? i rest my case as for palyuchenko spurs have already said he can go at the right price which i believe to be just under 10 million as they payed 12 for him so howd you work that one out theres nothing wrong with some ambition all i,m saying is if we sell out best player for top dollar then why not go for a top drawer player with the money ? as it will clearly be available

hes only 23 and has still to hit his peak, he is still our most creative player, and imo, the most improved player in the last 2 seasons, and if the team get their act together and starts playing well next season, ROI gets in the euro champs or we do well in europe or all of the above then how much will he be worth?

Worst case scenario, we hold on to him for 4-5 years, he stands still and sell him on for 5-10 mill still aged 27-28.

 

I would consider it if the money was going to be invested in the first team. I dont think Mcgeady will do too much down there anyway and we could probably get him back for half the money in a year or too.

 

i disagree mate, i think he would do well.

If you look at the wide players in every team in the epl, mcgeady is up there with the best of them, and at 23 has the best years ahead of him.

The prices the epl throws around for players, mcgeady has got to be worth at least 10m, imo he is as good as 90% of wingers in the EPL.

 

Depends if Mowbray has any money to spend in January. If we can spend a few million on a defender without having to sell McGeady then we'd be daft not to keep him.

Don't sell McGeady, that would be Mogga's worse piece of business yet. What does it say about a club when they sell their current player of the year who is only 23 years old for 10 million pounds? Makes us sound worse than a Championship side, only sell McGeady for "Manchester City money".

 

Arron Lennon? dreamland mate, i actually lol'd when i read that, as for 10 million for mcgeady id turn it down, we're in the perfect situation, Aiden wants to stay, hes tied up to a long contract, id wait and see what they offer next

no offence but this thread is total * how can u even consider selling your best player in the jan transfer window were up against it just now to win the league back hopefully we will strengthen then go on and win the league not weaken our team when we are up against it the crowds would drop dramaticly if we sell mcgeady
